I came across this new special course from Umi Omakase from IG ads actually. Curiosity arose and the price fit my pocket. So I decided to visit this place with my partner-in-crime.
After some chats with the chef, Umi Omakase has just recently launched this Himuka Course, maybe a week ago. This special course is priced at only Rm 133 nett, available at lunch daily. It focuses mostly on cooked dishes. It comes with an appetiser, tempura, chawan mushi, niku ryori (meat dish), a rice dish, miso soup and finally ends with a dessert. If you would like to have sashimi, you may top it up at Rm 68 and it will be served after the appetiser.
One can indulge in a few types of dishes in this course. I find it quite a value for money because I was only paying Rm 133 nett, I get a full Japanese course from appetiser to rice dish and sweet ending. Plus point, I got really delish and juicy fatty A5 Miyazaki wagyu in skewer form and fresh quality of bara chirashi don. Get to know that this course is available for a limited time only and chef himself also unsure this promo is happening until when.

Thanks to those crazy “spams” on social media (LOL). Especially from the red coloured app. The curiosity of trying out leads me and the bff to come here for on of our Thurs-dates.
Sushi Mew
Located in The Westin Kuala Lumpur, Sushi Mew serves modern Japanese cuisine, so for sushi aficionados who are craving for traditional or edomae style sushi experience; this may not be your place.
We opted for their lunch course that is priced at Rm 168. It comes with zensai, sashimi, nigiri, handroll, chawanmushi and dessert. This course fits perfectly for lunch hour crowd too, more or less in 1hour, you are done with the meal, and then you may move back to the office and continue with your work.
However, this course may not be able to satisfy a bigger eater’s tummy. Even for small eater, there are still some tummy spaces to fit in a few more. Well, it serves great as a trial course where you can try out first, check if you like it before heading straight to their full omakase course.
I like the idea of this Sake Symphony. Priced at only Rm 30 per carafe, 100ml each, you get to pick what you fancy to pair with your course.
