If you have not heard of SUTADONYA, SUTADONYA is the home of legendary Tokyo Stamina Don. They offer this specialty stamina boosting sutadon that is made of stir-fried pork belly with plenty of garlic and umami-packed special soy sauce, and blanket over hot fluffy white rice. It is a very hearty combination, very filling for the tummy and it gives ones a lot of satisfaction.

And just recently, Hakko Labo has a new collaboration with SUTADONYA; offering this super delicious Pork Steak with Garlic Koji Sauce!!!

Hakko Labo is specializing in traditional rice fermentation products such as amazake (rice fermented beverages), miso, koji sauce. They also offer miso and koji workshops where you can experience on making your own fermentation products and then incorporating them into your cooking.

Pork Steak with Garlic Koji Sauce (Rm 35)
The pork chop is firstly marinated with Hakko Labo’s garlic koji and it is then slow-cooked at low temperature. It will get a final heat touch up on the grill stove and dressed with special Garlic Koji sauce before serving. The set is completed with salad, miso soup and a bowl of fluffy white rice. It is quite a value for money, I would say!

The pork texture was very soft and tender. Additional of the koji during the marinating process did a lot of magic to the meat. Very flavourful, with a garlicky touch of the special Garlic Koji Sauce. Super yum! Must try!

Tokyo Sutadon (Rm 25)
Pork belly is stir-fried and cooked in a special garlic soy sauce, served on a bed of hot fluffy rice and topped with a raw egg. The don is completed with a bowl of nutritious miso soup.

This is another must order and also SUTADONYA’s signature; generous in portion and pretty flavourful in its special garlic soy sauce. You may opt for onsen egg if you are not a fan of raw egg. A yolk-porn moment when you poke on the egg yolk and mix evenly with the pork belly for an extra creamy gooey mouth feel.

Beef Tongue Set Meal (Rm 40)
Thinly sliced gyutan (beef tongue), grilled to perfection and served with spring onion sauce and lemon wedge. It is a classic Japanese way to enjoy the gyutan. However my portion of gyutan required quite a bit of jaw activities. Probably might have cool down quite a while after some time for photo taking. So, it is best to be enjoyed once arrive at the table, do not leave it for too long!

Hakko Labo’s Amazake (Japanese Rice Yogurt) is available in store too, with three flavours you can choose: original, matcha and houjicha! Amazake is a traditional Japanese drink made of fermented rice and Hakko Labo’s version is made with rice koji, a non-alcoholic type so that children can enjoy them too. It is a very special drink with thick consistency and naturally sweet in flavour; can be served hot or cold.

Amazake is very healthy and packed with nutrients; contains great amounts of vitamins B, amino acids and minerals. It aid digestion and also good in boosting immune system, anti-aging and improve skin condition.

Hakko Labo’s Amazake Sorbet (Japanese Rice Sorbet)
New product from Hakko Labo and I must say they taste really good! I particularly love the original flavour for its natural rice aroma and sweetness. Such a guilt-free dessert to end the meal and of course, as daily sweet tooth consumption too! LOL! The amazake sorbet is available at three flavours; original at the price for Rm 16 while houjicha and matcha flavours are at the price of Rm 17 each.
