Located at Arcoris Mont Kiara, Basic Wine Store is a casual wine shop and bistro offering a wide selection of natural wine and modern European fares that are truly comforting. Their simple one page menu is available from dinner onwards. It covers everything; from appetizer to greens, meat and seafood dishes, and desserts too! Snacks and tinned seafood are available throughout the day to go along with your glasses of wine.

Folie Blance | Muscadet, France

Red: Monte Dall’Ora Valpolicella Classico Saseti (Rm 48)
Carvina, Carvinone, Rondinella & Molinara Blend | Verano, Italy

Come to Basic Wine Store, wine is a must, of course! I love this white. It has a sweet honey-ish note towards the end. Both me and Jessie love our white. While Jean picked up the red as she found the white a little sourish to her palate. I like the idea where we get to taste the wine before we confirm our order. That’s a plus point to the whole dining experience.

Pâté de Campagne, pickles, dijon mustard (Rm 56)
Saw Pâté and that’s a must for Jean. LOL. Nice bits of everything on the fluffy sourdough toast!

Bangers & Mash
Savoury sausage, creamy and buttery mashed potatoes, rich onion gravy; this classic British dish was truly a comfort dish for the rainy night.

Charred greens, gremolata (Rm 20)
While taking order, the staff found that our orders were mainly protein; he suggested taking up this bright refreshing greens. We love that green sauce that came pretty refreshing some lemon zest and hinted with garlicky flavour. We mopped clean the plate with the help of toast. YUMZ!

Confit duck leg, braised red cabbage (Rm 39)
I love this! The duck meat was easily pulled off the bone, very tender, succulent and flavourful; while the skin was extremely crisp!

Speck, persimmon, mozzarella (Rm 42)
We had this savoury as our “dessert” but we found that this smoky cured ham was a little over salty to finish. If only the persimmon was extra candied or sweet, that would be perfect!

Good food, great company! Thanks to these ladies for an overdue birthday meal and many snacks and delicious cake too! Finally we managed to meet up after everyone busy with the festive season. Missing Sze here.
