Bistro Léa @ Sri Hartamas, Kuala Lumpur
Bistro Léa
Located at the quieter side of a neighbourhood in Sri Hartamas, Bistro Léa is another baby by the couple behind Atelier Bichotan and JUS Resto Bar . It is a casual French dining restaurant that offers the French bistro cuisine, totally a new different concept from the other two.
Love its interior that is decorated into really charming European country home, a little vintage-y feel with a cosy and chillax ambience. What’s more?! I actually got hooked on the beautiful plates they use. I kept admiring country style ceramic dining ware every time when a new dish came up. Country style, small floral, white plate with textured pattern, all… sooo… dainty and exquisite looking!
Bistro Léa offers Weekday lunch course at a very very good deal. It is super value for money and will not burn your pocket a big hole; given this fine style in a bistro-liked cuisine.
Weekday Menu Dejéuner
Rm 69 for 2-course
Rm 89 for 3-course
Course menu inclusive of coffee or tea after meal.
Complementary sourdough and butter to start. The chewy sourdough was packed with multigrain bits, giving it a lot of textures as we bite in.
White by glass (Rm 26)
Sauvignon Blanc; Chateau Haut Bertinerie Fruits & Fleurs Blanc, France; another option of white available is Pinor Grigio.

Entrées
Salade de Pomme de Terre
Smoked herring, potato salad, pickled cucumber and fresh dill
French potato salad with smoked herring, fresh dill and line with thinly sliced pickled cucumber. A very refreshing salad to start, it worked quite an appetite booster.
Oeuf Meurette
Veal bacon, poached egg, Swiss brown, pearl onion, escargot
A traditional dish from Burguandian cuisine based on the poached egg and meurette sauce. Personally I am not a fan of the earthy escargot but this sauce alongside with other ingredients were truly comforting. Pearl onions gave a touch of sweetness, veal bacon was savoury, the poached egg was hearty and the whole dish had a very depth flavours. I really like that sauce. How I wish I’d saved down the sourdough earlier so that I can mop clean the sauce!
A beautiful mess

Plats

Confir de Canard
Duck leg confit, cassis sauce and pomme puree
A classic French dish. With a crispy layer of duck skin, and underneath was a thin layer of fats and finally came to the succulent meat. The the sweet sourish cassis sauce and silky smooth pomme puree worked their magic beautifully on the duck meat. However I still prefer the duck leg confit from L’Atelier by Cilatro , with extra crisp on the skin and more aromatic.
Steak au Poivre (supplement at Rm 60)
Angus Tenderloin steak cooked medium rare, side with home cooked fries and served with black pepper sauce. We had it on medium rare and YUMZZ
.
Dessert
Rustic Apple Tart
Thin crust layered with thinly sliced apples, served warm and side with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. It was a very homey comforting dessert to end our meal.
.
Café au Thé
I had the Black Coffee while the bff had a Latte (supplement at Rm 2)
Happy celebration with the BFF!
