SAGA: Hama Bar
After visiting to Yutoku Inari Shrine and explored around Hizen Hamashuku , we finally made our last stop at this cute little HAMA BAR.
HAMA BAR
Hama Bar is located just next to JR Hizenhama Station; literally just connecting to the station. This is the place where you can find all the local sake from the five breweries here in Kashima City and that includes the award-winning Nabeshima from Fukuchiyo Brewery.
Also, you can check out the sake flight available in junmai ginjo set, daiginjo set and junmai-shu set where you can make comparison of among them from the same category.
We took the premium sake flight with the pairing of kasuzuke, Umitake (a kind of clam-liked shellfish) pickled in sake lees. The sake were the Nabeshima Junmai Daiginjo (Yamada Nishiki 35%) – fruity with floral note and it was very elegant; and Gonemon Junmai Daiginjo – done by low temperature fermentation. If I were able to converse in Japanese language, I will definitely question more!
We added on Nabeshima Daiginjo (¥ 650), generously served at 120ml.
Bought this Shochu-infused cake from Hizenya and it was filled with very aromatic dose of shochu. Sooo gooooood!
Happiness is me, to be able to try out them out. If time permits, I would like to try out the other local sake to find out which are my next favourite! However, train that pick up from this station is quite limited. So we had only an hour or so to complete our Hama Bar trip. Also, Hama Bar closes at around 4.30pm.
Getting there:
Take the limited express from JR Hakata Station to JR Hizen Kashima Station. The journey is about 1 hour by limited express. Do note that the limited express runs only 3 to 4 times a day.
Then take the local train to JR Hizenhama station. HAMA BAR is located right at the station.
