ORI di ATLAS @ Cheras, Kuala Lumpur
ORI di ATLAS
Located here up the hill at Taman Supreme Cheras neighbourhood, ORI di ATLAS is the place specializing in Italian cuisine that comes with flair of Asian twist.
If you remember them from the Atlas Gourmet Market ‘s days, they are now here in Cheras! Super happy with their appearance here in Cheras, it is so near me now, just some stone throw away from my house. And for us Cherasans, we have a new place to explore and revisit!
First thing first, wine for everyone! We had White Wine to go with our appetizer and fish; later on we switched to Red Wine to go with our steaks and lamb rack.
Pomodoro House made Garlic Bread (Rm 16)
Garlic and herb pizza dough served with Pomodoro Sauce
This house made garlic bread was thin and crisp and very aromatic!
Grilled Prawns with Tea Infused Summer Breeze Salad (Rm 32)
Mixed greens, lychee, watermelon, mint leaves, Feta cheese, pistachio nuts and housemade sweet basil dressing.
Something new on their menu and it represents the summer! Watermelon, mint, lychee and a refreshing sweet basil dressing! That’s how summer be like. I personally like that crunchy sweet basil bits on the watermelon cube! It gave an extra sandy crunch texture to the juicy watermelon. Simply cooling and thirst-quenching.
Eggplant with Sautéed Chicken Fusion Salad (Rm 28)
Eggplant cube, chicken, baby French bean, red chilli, sesame seed, butter head lettuce and dressed with sweet soy dressing
I am an eggplant person and my cousin told me this was good during her visit, so we must order to try! Indeed it was a good stuff, the eggplant and other ingredients have soaked up all the sweet soy dressing sauce. Sweet and umami! What an Asian fusion delights!
Mussels & Prawns in Buttery White Chocolate Sauce (Rm 38)
Fresh mussel, sea prawns, white chocolate, artichoke, garlic, olive oil, salted egg yolk, curry leaves, chili padi, cherry tomatoes, green cardamom, french baguette
Can you imagine white chocolate in a savoury dish with salted egg yolk, punch with the aroma of curry leaves and spice with chili padi! It was creamy and garlicky, packed with the savouriness. This dish was truly amazing. We wished to have more bread to polish clean the sauce!
Grilled Octopus (Rm 45)
Octopus tentacles, grilled lemon, red radish, chives, lemon butter sauce
That’s the kind of grilled octopus! I must say this time the grilled octopus is a lot better than last round. Chewy bouncy and flavourful with other condiments.
Seared Yellowfin Tuna Steaks (Rm 48)
Sashimi grade yellowfin tuna, asparagus, pineapple salsa, Ori’s ginger sesame dressing
Supernova Pizza (Rm 58)
Ori’s pizza dough, deep fried chicken thigh fillets, house made spicy Korean sauce, garlic confit, cheese sauce, mayo, black olive, coriander leaf, red pickled onion, toasted black and white sesame seed.
Something new in their menu! A very interesting pizza with Korean touch. It was a little spicy to me, but if you are a big fan of Korean spicy level, this could be your thing!
Beef Hamburger Steak with Rice (Rm 40)
Housemade beef patties, sunny side up egg, sumo rice, watercress, carrot and sesame and served with demi-glace sauce
Juicy hamburger topped with the sunny side up has got this very home-cook feel, simply comforting.
Grilled Miso Cod Fish (Rm 75)
Atlantic cod fish, miso, honey, asparagus, carrot, broccoli, red radish, Ori’s bell pepper sauce.
Beautifully grilled buttery cod fish in honey miso and their special bell pepper sauce; fatty, creamy and delicious!
Don’t forget to check out their steak and grills to offer from the chiller counter. This time, we had the Wagyu Tenderloin MB2 (Rm 65 per 100gram), Wagyu Striploin MB 6 (Rm 85 per 100gram) and lamb rack from the counter.
Yummy, the beef was so good. Both cuts came with their beautiful reddish hues; grilled to perfection, very tender. We opted for the MB 2 and MB 6 cuts in order to taste the difference of the textures and cuts. Wagyu Striploin MB 6 was fatty in its marbling and I never thought the Wagyu Tenderloin MB2 could be this mind-blowing! I like that herbs butter to pair with wagyu tenderloin! It reminded me of the steak I had in Switzerland . Very aromatic piece of steak and kudos to the chef who excel it so well.
All their steak comes with roasted potatoes and side salad, and a choice of chimichurri, black pepper sauce, jus sauce, and we got the truffle sea salt this round. I am in love with the chimichurri and the truffle sea salt to go with my steaks. So yum!
Grilled French Rack
I could see that they were nicely done because everyone on the table was praising about the lamb rack!
