No idea where they have shifted to, but if any of you know or spotted them somewhere, please update me too! I miss their Kampua Mee and Sarawak Laksa very badly.

Found another great stuff here in this Cheras neighbourhood!

Sarawak Mee

Located inside Dai Be Steam Fish Head Restaurant大鼻鱼头茶餐室, there hidden this new gem specialising in sarawak’s noodles – Sarawak Mee, very straight forward from its stall’s name. Sarawak Mee is relatively a new stall that pops up inside this kopitiam not too long ago.

To be honest, it is not easy to get a great bowl of Kolo Mee, Kampua Mee and Sarawak Laksa in Cheras neighbourhood. I was overjoyed when I first saw this new stall here and I came here for the Sarawak Laksa (and stole 2 forkful of the Kampua Mee from my mum) two days in a row during Chinese New Year!

Kampua Mee (Rm 9)
Very nice springy egg noodles came with very generous amount of minced meat and char siu, topped with a mixture of spring onion and fried shallots. It is also loaded with the crunchy fried pork lard and aromatic lard oil. It was so good when all were tossed in together; every mouthful was filled with the aroma of lard oil.

Sarawak Laksa (Rm 12)
This Sarawak Laksa is also loaded with lots of ingredients such as chopped spring onions, fried shallots, chicken slices, shrimps, bean sprouts, thin beaten egg omelette strips and a bed of thicker strands of mee hoon. Served alongside was the aromatic sambal with a squeeze of lime. I like this laksa broth; it was tangy and well spiced, rich and creamy but not overly powering, easily finish the whole bowl of laksa broth myself. It was so heart-alluring that I came back two days in a row for this bowl of laksa. (can’t wait to revisit again during my day off!)

Kuey Chap (Rm 12)
Very smooth and silky soft flat rice noodles, packed with a mixture of stomachs, intestines, tongue and pork belly in this dark brown broth. My brother got the hard-boiled egg in exchange with the tongue. The broth was quite herbal-ish but I think not many people may easily accept this strong herbal-ish noodles soup. My dad told me the herbal flavour was even stronger during their very first opening, but now it was toned down a little to suit the locals.

Here are a few good places to check out if you are around this neighbourhood – Restoran Sun Ming for roasted duck, char siu and siu yok, Kiow Jie Hakka Yong Taufu for Hakka delicacies and Xi Yue Happiness Asia Chicken Rice .
