Autumn’s Mino @ Sushi Oribe, KL
Allow me to throw back to October where we celebrated Jessie’s birthday before our meet in Fukuoka. Hah! Yes, another throw back, not one but two. I will continue the December ones after this, and then my birthday sushi on January!
With comparison, I think all the Sushi meals in 2023 I had over here were pretty awesome! I had a great start in 2023, on my birthday ; then Sze’s one for summer mino in June , and Jessie’s one in October.

Appetiser
As the appetiser is made of lotus root, I requested for a change. And so this was mine!
Kampachi – yellowtail
Amaebi – sweet shrimp
And its roe, to mix with rice. Sweet and umami in a bowl.
Fried prawn’s head, in its huge crunch, we polished off the whole thing.
Sanma – Pacific saury
An autumn’s fish, I was quite worry to have this raw, always; but luckily Nao-san never disappoint me. It was surprisingly sweet.

This was very clean and popping with umami-ness!
Uni – Sea Urchin
Chawanmushi
Made with in season ingredient – sweet potato, blending it into the dashi and egg. Very nice sweet potato-ish chawanmushi.
Mekajiki – swordfish

Ahhh, this tuna handroll, and topped with uni is big love!
