Cotta @ Mont Kiara, KL
Cotta
A hidden rooftop café that is located up at Verve Shop, specializing in homemade creamy ricotta and offering a series of delicious wholesome dishes that are made with local fresh ingredients.
Friendly, hearty and sincere
These are the best words I can conclude after a visit to Cotta.
They have the friendliest staffs with smiles on them (at all time). The dishes are nutritious and hearty and very delicious. You can see the sincerity of their works from the homemade ricotta, preparing every dish from scratch and they even have homegrown vegetables at their counter! I am sold!!! Homegrown vegetables, how many restaurant or café can do this.
Cosy ambience too! I visited in early December while they were still in the midst of having some Christmas decors up.
There are greens and potted plants at every corner inside the premise
Dirty Macchiato (Rm 16)
Summer Harvest Salad (Rm 23)
Hand-picked assortment of organic greens, cherry tomatoes, nuts, crutons, sun-dried fruits, cheddar and drizzled with balsamic and olive oil. I seldom will order a salad in a café but then they mentioned they plant their own greens! This wow-ed my heart and I decided to pick up a salad. LOL. Definitely a refreshing treat with the drizzled of balsamic and olive oil. Very appetizing too!
Chuck Mooris (Rm 28)
Twice smoked 6 hours slow cooked Australian beef, homemade chimichurri, sous-vide egg, freshly made ricotta, all topped on the sourdough bread. This was soooo good! The smokiness of the pulled beef, spiced up by the chimichurri and a nicely sous-vide egg for a gooey madness. This whole combo was seriously addictive!
A beautiful mess!
Mushroom Ricotta Pasta (Rm 29)
3 kinds of local mushrooms, smoked mushrooms, sous-vide egg, arugula, touched with Sarawak black pepper and freshly made ricotta. Spaghetti was made al dente, flavourful and blended well with all other ingredients. A balance stir of the egg yolk gave a perfect runny viscosity to the pasta.
Peruvian Chicken (Rm 25)
Oven baked chicken thigh, homemade greek yoghurt, jalapeno peppers, garlic and crispy sourdough bread. Chicken thigh cubes were very well seasoned and baked to perfection and very juicy to pair with the crispy bread and the Greek yoghurt; quite an ass-kicking one with the spiciness from the jalapeno peppers. This was really for serious heat taker!
