Located at B. Land in PJ, sharing the same space with Nippori Bistro, Miyako Izakaya, Menya Shi Shi Do and Pepo Pizza, Joon Dining is brought up by the talented team behind Rare The Food Company, offering this casual dining place that serves Modern European cuisine with an Asian touch.

Joon Dining starts serving lunch recently. After checking out the menu from social media, we decided to make a visit and we can conclude their lunch course is very value for money! Portion is huge, taste is great, perfect place for lunch date and gathering.

First thing first, White (Rm 25) for us!

First course

Ciabatta Roll with garlic lemon butter
Mmmm, I like this whipped butter with a garlicky touch on my bread roll, and ended with the crispy garlic slices!

Starter

Roasted Cauliflower
Salted egg gribiche, pumpkin seed, sultana raisin
Roasted cauliflowers was hinted with the charred aroma, paired well with the savoury salted egg gribiche, sweeten by the raisin bits and ended with a crunch of pumpkin seed.

Pani Puri
Salmon, compressed apple, ginger ponzu dressing
Deep fried breaded sphere filled with salmon cubes, apple, ginger and tangy ponzu dressing. I really like this. This dish gave me an interesting confusion but I do like this fusion combination.

Baby Octopus
Al ajillo style, crisp garlic, chili flakes, pomelo salad
Love this! Very appetizing. Basically I like all of their starters we ordered.

Mains

Lobster Pasta (supplement Rm 10)
Handmade fresh pasta, wild-caught spiny whole lobster, kimchi
Such a brilliant idea to have kimchi blended into a pasta dish! The handmade pasta has absorbed the seafood essence and spiced up by the sourish kimchi

Super Seafood Paella (supplement Rm 28)
Mixed Catch of the day, tomato cream, sweet basil Aioli
Dosed with lots of fish slices, clams, crabs and prawn, tossed in with tomato cream and dollops of sweet basil aioli. This paella may not be something we usually find but it was great for sharing! This pan of paella, can easily feeds 2! Really huge in portion.

Free Range Dry Age Chicken Confit
Tajin Lyonnaise potatoes, sweet corn veloute
We were too stuff with the above, and so we had to takeaway this portion of chicken confit.

Dessert

Tart
Lemon cheese curd, seasonal fruits, candied lemon
We were attracted to the Panna Cotta and would love to try that out but we were informed that the quality was not on par, so maybe next round! So this was it. The tart also served a great ending to our meal. Tangy lemon cheese curd in the flaky crusty buttery pastry, beautified with fruits.
