Bunn Choon Restaurant 品泉茶室
Established since 1893, with over 100 years of history, Bunn Choon Restaurant 品泉茶室 is famous for its flaky eggy egg tart, prepared using their traditional recipe. However, me on the other hand, is a big fan of their 叉烧派 Char Siu Pai (Pie), always tapao them home. Recently, their 老婆饼 Lou Poh Beng also go into my must buy list as it has a pleasant distinctive scent of dried tangerine bits sandwiched within the chewiness filling; super love it.
Bunn Choon is more than just the flaky pastries, they offer delicious dim sum where you can sit down, dine in and enjoy the yum zhou char vibe in this vintage looking space at the upper floor.
This restaurant is tucked inside here in Jalan Panggung / Lorong Panggung, or more well-known as 鬼仔巷 Kwai Chai Hong, a space that is packed with vintage vibe. Definitely a great place to bring your friends from far to make a visit.
Their dim sum menu may not be very extensive, but they offer a good simple dim sum variety that are able satisfy your dim sum cravings. I personally love their Deep Fried Shrimp Roll, Siu Mai, Phoenix Eye, Beancurd Roll, Sichuan Dumplings… all were packed with mega flavours (totally no fails, of all my visits). Ohhh, and that Pan Fried Radish Cake is what I love the most! Pan fried to aromatic brown, crispy on the outside with fluffy chewiness on the inside, packed with shrimp bits too! Do pair this with the given shrimp chilli oil for extra ohmppp .
As the space is rather small with limited tables, each table are limited to 60 minutes per dine in session. You will be reminded when it is about time by the friendly staff. Below is a collection of mine, from a few dined in experiences.

For pastry, you will have to choose them from the ground floor pastry counter. We got the egg tarts and Char Siu Pai. Me super love their Char Siu Pai. Egg tarts were flaky but not my personal best.
