FUKUOKA: Hakata Ikkousha Ramen @ Hakata Station
Yes! First thing first, RAMEN!
This is something I have been craving for long. Personally, I am a big fan of tonkotsu ramen. Come to this ramen paradise that is famous for tonkotsu ramen, my first must do definitely has to be slurping up a bowl of hot piping ramen.

Tonkotsu ramen is Hakata’s local specialty food, well known for its soupy frothy pork bone soup base ramen with its thin strand of slurp-y noodles. I have listed down a few that I wanna visit, and my first option was Issou Hakata because it is located quite a short distance away from the hotel I was staying. However… the queue was crazily long as I got over at around 11am! Seriously crazy! Plan B needed and we hope over to Hakata Station’s Ramen Street, a place where it groups up all famous brands ramen of Fukuoka.
I picked up Hakata Ikkousha Ramen because Shin Shin Ramen and Ganso Nagahama were crazily long queue too.
Ajitama Tonkotsu Ramen (¥ 950)
A very standard bowl of ramen; comes with huge slice of tender pork slice in pinkish hues, ajitama, black fungus and a handful of chopped spring onions, served piping hot. The soup was frothy with microfoam of bubbles, soupy and creamy; with every thin strand of the noodles adsorbing the flavourful frothy broth. It was really slurp-y and delicious.
The ajitama was seriously delicious too, with orangey red semi solid egg yolk, very well-seasoned.
Not forgetting to add this chili bits into your ramen for a fiery kick, available at the condiment tray on every table!
Ajitama Chashu Ramen (¥ 1,150)
Protein lover can opt for this Hakata Ikkousha’s bestseller which comes with extra pork slices. Additional of ¥ 200 for more pork slices, why not?!
Ramen’s best combo – a beer!
Go for the rich froth collab set if you love to have double frothiness combo. It comes with a standard bowl of piping hot ramen (without the ajitama) and a cooling draft beer at just ¥ 1,100!
Not to miss out their Gyoza (¥ 350) which is another must order too! The size was mini but very aromatic, juicy and bursting with flavours. We regretted a little for ordering only one plate. LOL, should have ordered more!
