BANGKOK: Kritthai Residence @ Pathuwan
Kritthai Residence
Aside from the two budget boutique hotels – NAP Hotel Bangkok and Lemontea Hotel I have blogged about earlier, Kritthai Residence is another budget place I fancied most. Reasons being, it is located in the heart of Bangkok City, about 15 minutes’ walk away from Siam Center, Siam Paragon and Siam Square! Also, it is just a few steps away from the National Stadium BTS Sky Train Station! Yes, the station is located right in front the hotel. Extra convenience!
Small but inviting reception area
I got this family room that fit nicely for 4 pax at about Rm 400 per night (back in year 2019), inclusive of breakfast. The room is modern yet minimalist; furnished with wooden floorings and painted in white. Quite muji style, I would say. Like the huge glass windows that bring in the natural sunlight.
As it was the family room I booked, it came with the 2 huge comfortable king-sized beds, a shower area and a bathroom with bath tub! So no fighting for showers after shopping or outing with sweat all day long.
There is no pool in this hotel, but there is this sunbath lounge at the rooftop, overlooking the national stadium. If you loved to have a Vitamin D session or a chilling session at night, you may hop up here.
Breakfast is served at the bistro located just right beside the reception. Their buffet breakfast was pretty amazing. The spread was not very huge but it was very satisfying. For a smaller version of hotel, it was quite astonishing to see the spread like this.
Aside from western delights, they offer local dishes too. Salad bar, local porridge, pathongko (Thai version of You Tiao), homemade yogurts, cut fruits, juices, hot soya and etc.. Hotel breakfast is something I always look forwards at time I wake up. LOL.
