Cakes & Desserts @ Kampachi EQKL
And then … I have yet to talk about the dessert in Kampachi EQ which you guys should check it out!
Check out my previous write up for the delicious course in Kampachi EQ.
Chef Akari Shibata, who has working experience in La Maison du chocolat Marunouchi, Tokyo is now bringing over the luxurious Japanese style desserts which are made with skillful technique and fresh ingredients to us in Malaysia. She is grown up in Nagoya, graduated majoring in Food and Nutrition and began her career as a pastry chef after receiving her Certificate of French pastry at Le Cordon Bleu Tokyo. Her signature creation of Thin Crust Cream Puff is a must-try, alongside with the Japanese Style Strawberry Shortcake, Seasonal Mixed Fruit Tarts and Mont Blanc Chestnut Tart that are available at both EQ and Kampachi Pavilion.
Thin Crust Cream Puff
Chef Akari’s signature and it is very wow! Also my favourite of all! The custard cream was extremely light and fluffy, sandwiched in between the flaky buttery airy thin soft-choux. Very delicate I would say, I can easily have two of them.
Mont Blanc Chestnut Tart
Made using best quality French chestnut cream, recreated it with fresh-whipped cream tart filling that hold it up like the Mount Fuji.
Strawberry Shortcake
Another must try when you are in Japan, but now you can get them here in KL without flying off to Japan. Chef Akari’s version of Strawberry Shortcake comes with extra fluffy genoise base; the texture of the cake is extra feathery light, airy and very well-balanced with the sweetness of strawberries.
Mixed Fruits Tart
The base was filled with spongy layer and encircled with aromatic almond crunchy crust, topped with colorful juicy fruits.
Homemade Sakura Ice Cream
Had a chance to taste this milky ice cream infused with cherry blossom petals earlier during spring season too.
