Shakariki 432 @ Solaris Dutamas, KL
I passed by Shakariki 432 during the time I went to Toritama , it was full house which increased my curiosity. Besides that, my sushi instagrammer friend also highly recommended this place and so, I told myself I need to check it out!
Shakariki 432
Offers a very fun and casual dining experience. Established in Osaka since year 2002, they now have more than 25 outlets in Bangkok!!! Glad to see them here in KL! During my visit, I found out about 80% of the customers here are Japanese, I believe the izakaya fares must be pretty authentic here.
As you enter this izakaya, you will find yourself being transported away to those izakaya in Japan. The walls are plastered with posters, food menu, drinks menu and special of the day. Their menu is pretty thick and they offer a wide variety of food here, from snack dish to deep fried dishes and from tempura to yakitori. Drinks too, come with a few pages in the menu! So, do spare a little time “reading” the menu!
Freshly Squeezed Grape Fruit Hai (Rm 28)
We ordered the 1 litre mega size to share!
Karaage (Rm 15)
Deep fried chicken, always my must have when in izakaya! Perfectly marinated and deep fried into perfection.
Nasubi-dengaku (Rm 14)
Grilled eggplant with miso; soft, mushy and coated with flavourful miso sauce! Just perfect.
Negi Umatan (Rm 22)
Grilled beef tongue is definitely the bomb. It was tender and chewy at the same time, packed with a punch of garlicky flavor.
Takoyaki (Rm30) came in 30 pieces.
We were kinda excited about this dish as we saw from the menu; it seems that customers can actually cook their own takoyaki. Little did we know, if you wanna make your own takoyaki, do inform the staff when you place in order. Or else, it will be made in the kitchen and serve to you. We had ours with the choice of Negi Ponzu and add on Sakura Ebi (Rm 3) into our takoyaki.
Drinks, kampai and izakaya fare, that’s the perfect way to end an evening!

grilled egg plant + miso looks like something I can get to try at home! Thanks.
Remember to add a bit of mirin to mix with miso before spreading them onto the eggplant for grilling 😉
