NIKKO: Hotel Nikko Green Fuwari Natsukashiya
If you are planning to stayover in Nikko, do check out this ryokan that offers the awesome half board service at a very reasonable price. This is one of my most shiawase stay in Japan, after Fuji Kawaguchiko Onsen Konansou and Shinwaen Inn.

Hotel Nikko Green Fuwari Natsukashiya
About 7 minutes’ drive from JR Nikko Station, Hotel Nikko Green Fuwari Natsukashiya is a ryokan that is surrounded with scenic view and offers a relaxing and nostalgic environment. I was here with Esther during the non-peak season in September; we managed to secure a room at a very reasonable price with half board service (comes with dinner and breakfast).
Getting here:
Take Tobu bus bound for Chuzenji Onsen or Yumoto Onsen from Tobu Nikko Station and get off at Bus Stop #11 Nikko Tomazawa Goyotei Kinenkoen (Tamozawa Goyotei Imperial Villa), walk across the road and turn right into the junction, the small hill road will lead you to Hotel Nikko Green Fuwari Natsukashiya.
We came here by Limited Express SPACIA train to Tobu Nikko Station on Tobu Skytree Line with Nikko All Area Pass.
And this buddy brought me here
This ryokan features a public bath and an indoor hot spring bath with sauna, also equipped with all the toiletries you will need. Basically, if you are staying in this kind of ryokan, you do not need to bring any toiletries over, try to use what’s available to max your experience. We straightaway fell in love the collagen toner provided in this premise and got a bottle each from the souvenir shop. Yes, you may also find a souvenir shop at the premise, offering local’s souvenirs and gifts.
Our tatami room
Our tatami-matted room with the most comfortable futon beds for the night.
While waiting for onsen time, we made tea and munched on the small snack presented.
Dinner and breakfast are prepared in the banquet hall. Look at what we were having, a whole table full with beautifully decorated delicious dishses! The kaiseki meal (Japanese multi-course dinner) was another most shiawase point, using the freshest seasonal local ingredients to prepare it.
OMG this was super delicious!!!
After dinner, it was some onsen chill time (no photos taken as photo is prohibited in onsen area) and we ended our day early into the comfortable futon bed.
Next morning’s breakfast was another shiawase point too! Look at the spread! I can eat this every morning.
Zen-ish moment. I spent some time by just stoning at this view after the breakfast spread.
Glowing skin pretty hair, thanks to the magical hot spring bath and futon bed, and wonderful service from the ryokan. I can’t wait to come back here again, maybe some years later.
