48-Hour Girls’ Trip in Langkawi: Things to Do, Eat & See
My girls and I always wanna have a girls’ trip! When we stumbled on the low-cost carrier airline’s SALES sometimes ago, we managed to secure our return air ticket to Langkawi at RM 79 only. We flew into the island for 3 days 2 nights chillax trip. To be exact, it was only a full 48 hours trip in Langkawi as we reached at 3 o’clock in the afternoon and flew out of the island 2 days later in the afternoon. We stayed in 2 different hotels for 2 nights, you may check out where we were staying at the end of this post.
And so if you have only 48 hours in Langkawi, here are some things you can do.
First thing first, rent a vehicle so that you can roam around freely with your girls on the island.
1. Have a sunset drink at Yellow Beach Café
Located at Pantai Cenang, just at the beach front with white sandy beach and facing the calming seaview; serves as a popular place for glasses of sunset drink. As per its name, do expect to see this place covered with yellow tone such as on the tables, menu, walls, decoratives, as well as the lazy bean bags.
Yellow Beach Café serves western delights such as steaks, pizzas, salad and sandwiches; and not to miss out their concoction of cocktails when you are here for the beautiful sunset.
Paired with the spectacular view right in front of this cafe

2. Pick the bottles and chocolate from Teow Soon Huat Duty-Free Shopping

3. Girls fun time in the Jacuzzi!
This is the reason we were here! Jacuzzi and bath! Wootz!
4. Breakfast and dip in into the cooling pool
As our hotel was equipped with a pool with tropical surrounding, how not to dip in, at least our feet into the pool and some photos?!
5. Local eat in Restoran Siti Fatimah
A popular lunch spot for the local, this is a family-owned nasi campur restaurant which offers an array of delicious local Malay cooking dishes which is affordably priced. They offer a selection of meat, seafood and vegetables dishes on the “buffet” line; also a few types of spiced gravy and ass-kicking sambal belacan to go with your rice. Just pick what you wanna eat from the line and then go to the counter to make your payment.
We truly fell in love with their sambal to be eaten with ulam!

6. Tai-tai tea session in The Danna, Langkawi
Girls’ trip must do – afternoon tea! We chose Straits & Co, hidden inside the colonial style The Danna Langkawi; is a cosy café charmed with the Peranakan decorative. Look at the floral motive tiles, the old school cupboards, classy marbled top tables and rattan chairs. Every corner is very instagrammable.
You may choose to dine in air-conditioned indoor under the high ceiling or breezy outdoor, lying on a wooden daybed surrounded with tropical hues and overlooking the pool. How we wished we stayed in here, LOL.
Signature Afternoon Tea (Rm 128). Came elegantly in tiers of sweets and savouries, and your choice of Dilmah tea and Lavazza coffee for 2 pax (per set).

We slouched on the bean bags and ordered some snacks and beer from the stall nearby and waited for the sunset to come.
Sun, sand, snack, shade, sunnies, and Savanna, beach time with all the essential “S”.
8. Mesmerize the pastel colour sunset at Tanjung Rhu
The sunset by the beach was extremely romantic and beautiful in pastel colour!
No edit no filter at all ya! The evening ended with this beautiful pastel colour sky
9. Seafood Dinner in Wonderland Food Store
A no-frill Chinese food store that is famous among the locals, always crowded and serves really delicious seafood fare yet affordable. Squid, fish, crabs, prawns, clams… any kind of dishes; they will make them in real wok hei.

10. Morning pool session after breakfast
This kind of scorching hot weather is best to dip in again right?! There is another nice pool on the roof top of our second home for the trip! We had it all by ourselves.
11. Coffee moment in Smiling Buffalo
Need caffeine fix? Smiling Buffalo is where you can get the espresso based beverages alongside with simple breakfast fares or waffles and pancake as dessert. Set in a traditional wooden Malay house that has the tropical view as a backdrop, and decorated in a retro way, we couldn’t stop ourselves with more photos while sipping on the drinks and munching on the sweet delights. This is indeed a hidden gem, one of our best find in Langkawi.
