Jao Tim @ Jalan Sultan, KL
I haven’t been out for café hopping for the longest time, found out that there are many instagrammable café pop up along Petaling Street that worth checking out one by one. Here is this Jao Tim I have been seeing it everywhere on social media.
Jao Tim
Known as “Hotel” in Cantonese, sits above Hai O; a classic vintage looking space that has so much feel in it. Spacious with high rise ceiling and red brick wall; filled with antique-looking gold light switches on the wall, wooden coffee tables and chairs. The whole atmosphere has got its own unique vibes in it. The “concierge” plays another important scene too, which I felt it has the “Harry Potter” setting. With a beautiful melody plays in the air, this is seriously a great place to zen.
There is a small selection of hot food, pastries, sandwiches and cakes to accompany the extensive selection of beverages such espresso-based coffee, matcha-based tea and beers. You may also find some special craft beers over here!
Mocha (Rm 13)
Tsubaki Houjicha Latte (Rm 14)
Grilled Cheese Sandwich (Rm 15)
A must order and also the best seller. Aromatic and cheesy melted mozzarella and cheddar cheese sandwiched in between the toasted bread and side with appetizing salad. Best to savour it while it is still warm or else, it is quite hard to chew on when it gets cold. Do get someone to share with you as it is pretty sinful.
Smoked Duck Rice Bowl (Rm 19)
Served with smoked duck with the special sauce on a bed of rice, completed with a Japanese soft boiled egg and garnished with shichimi.
If you love jazz or music, drop by on Sunday afternoon for their live jazz jamming session. Feel free to check out their IG account @jaotimkl for updates and more information!
