Crème De La Crème @ Damansara Uptown, PJ
I guess frozen dessert is in trend now! Here comes another place you must visit for ice cream and frozen dessert or ice cream cake! Located just a few doorsteps away from Hong Leong Bank in Damansara Uptown, Crème de La Crème or often known as CDLC is where you can get the best ice cream in town.
Crème De La Crème
Its name says it all, crème de la crème, best of the best. And yes, this is one of the best artisan ice creams I came across so far! Malaysia’s only dessert heaven with pastry chefs who worked and trained under the renowned celebrity dessert master, Christy Tania! CDLC creates and handcrafts the smoothest, creaminess, delicious ice cream that is made of 100% all natural, fresh and wholesome ingredients. They hand make the ice cream from scratch; without using any preservatives, artificial flavourings and colourings.
At the moment, CDLC is offering a total of 18 delectable ice cream flavours. Some of the flavours are even infused with the flavours of local delicacies such as Pandan Kaya Toast, Barley Lime, Limau Assam, Teh Tarik. If you are a fan of Durian, do check out their Musang King.
I got to sample 8 flavours of their sorbet and ice cream. Chef paired each flavours with different flavoured cone base such as chocolate and lemon to give an astounding outcome.
Barley Lime Sorbet
The classic local drink made into sorbet that has the texture in between ice cream and sorbet. Velvety smooth yet refreshing!
Dragon Fruit Strawberry
Limau Assam
or known as Kat Chai Suen Mui, local favourite kopitiam drink that works like the thirst quencher! Zesty, tangy and totally revitalising, perfect for the hot weather like now.
Madagascar Ash
Madagascar Ash uses premium Madagascar vanilla beans and premium bamboo charcoal powder. It is a healthy ice cream as it is low GI. It is sugar free too, so it is suitable for diabetic.
Cerealicious
This is pretty special where they soak the cereal in fresh milk to concentrate the cereal flavour and make into ice cream. Now, does it mean, we get to have ice cream cereal at breakfast?!
Cookies & Cream
Their Cookies & Cream also wowed me. Using 63% Wiess dark chocolate from France and they bake their chocolate cookies themselves! Purely artisan!
Pandan Kaya Toast
Extremely fragrant with pandan, coconut and eggs. Must try this out because it is a perfect blend, it is totally like eating the pandan kaya toast itself, except in chilling ice cream form!!!
French Earl Grey Boba
You can now “eat” the bubble tea! Heavily infused with the flavour of French Earl Grey tea in their ice cream, another favourite of mine. If you love tea flavoured ice cream, this will be your fave too.
Aside from ice cream, CLDC also handcrafts very beautiful Petits Gateaux – the ice cream cake. These cakes are beautifully made into pieces of instagrammable art, with also story behind them. To be honest, they are all just too pretty to be eaten!
Bunny (Rm 22)
Easter is around the corner, get this cute bunny!
Multi-layered with coconut, mango, calamansi, pineapple, lemongrass and passionfruit, and crispy chocolate hazelnut feuiletine base, every mouthful of it was extremely refreshing, citrusy and explosive. It was pretty thirst quenching too!
Beauty & the Beast (Rm 25)
63% dark chocolate and vanilla ice cream, Morello cherry sorbet, dark chocolate crumble, choclate brownie and almond nibs. Another instagrammable piece with the theme from the fairy-tale story of beauty and the beast.
Da Bomb! (Rm 25)
63% dark chocolate, Madagascar vanilla ice cream, hazelnut ganache, dark chocolate dip. For sure chocolate lover will in love with this for its super rich chocolaty taste!
Lady Pearl
Made with a mix of Strawberry and Madagascar Vanilla ice cream, layered with Dragon Fruit Strawberry sorbet, touched with little crumbles, red almond sponge and passion fruit cremeux, and finally glazed with raspberry. Elegant and classy pink beauty!
