A Journey Through Tea @ Newens Tea House, Starhill Gallery KL
Newens Tea House
A renowned for their 300-year-old tea drinking heritage that has been re-imagined for the 21st century. You will be able to immerse in the luxury of a leisurely afternoon tea, English-style, accompanied by the famous Maids of Honour tart.
I like the way how Newens Tea House offers their afternoon tea, A Journey Through Tea is in line, happening every month with different theme. It is A French Affair this month in July and coming up Arabic Delights and Malaysia Tea will be available for the month of August and September respectively. So, you will get to taste different kind of afternoon tea every month. How brilliant!

Delicate sweets to go after the savouries. They are just too pretty to be eaten!
August: Arabic Delights
Not your usual afternoon tea, I supposed.
Baklava – sweet pastry, Falafel – deep fried patties with chickpeas, Kibbeh – deep-fried patties with onions and lamb, Hummus – dip made with mashed chickpeas, Mini Pies and Turkish Delights are all plated prettily on a carved silver tray. This exotic afternoon tea is paired with free-flow of Moroccan Tea.
Too Pretty and it deserves another shot
September: Malaysia Tea
In conjunction with Malaysia Day on 16 September, you will be seeing the local delights all month long in September. There are Pisang Goreng, Chicken Satay with Peanut Sauce and Roti Jala served with Chicken Curry. Tea is complemented by free-flow of Teh Tarik. Cool, isn’t it?! I was overjoyed seeing these local favourites featured on their afternoon tea set. Indeed, very unique!
Crispy Pisang Goreng pairing with vanilla ice cream, aromatic charred chicken satay was tender and the chicken curry to go with the roti jala was rich and flavourful! I too, happily stuffed them into my tummy and gulped down the silky smooth and not too sweet Teh Tarik, best of all, it’s refillable!
