OSAKA: Matsusakagyu Yakiniku M
[Update August 2024] OSAKA: Matsusakagyu Yakiniku M
Like I said earlier, Matsusakagyu Yakiniku M definitely needs a full review on itself. I have visited twice in a year, in winter and autumn, tried out 2 different courses. There are a few outlets in Dotonburi area and 1 in Umeda. I went to the one in Dotonbori and reservation can be done online at TableCheck
However, if you couldn’t get a table, check out this Osaka’s Popular Yakiniku Dotonbori Mitsuru for their A5 Kuroge Wagyu Yakiniku. They offer 3 different courses that are priced very affordably and they have a few outlets in Osaka – Shinsaibashi Branch, Uehommachi Branch and Dotombori Main Branch!
Booking is very easy on KKDay Website. Just choose your preferred day and time and the course you would like to take, then make payment! Matsusakagyu Yakiniku M
Matsusakagyu Yakiniku M is specialized in serving Matsusaka beef that is famous for the high fat to meat ratio. All the cows are fed with beer to create a heathy appetite; special body massage is given with a mixture of shochu to create a smooth blood circulation throughout the cow’s body. Hence, the beef with perfect marbling.
The menu is pretty extensive, beef courses menu is highly recommended for those first timers, always, so that you will be able to try out all the variety available. Do note that there is a minimum order on the course menu.
There are 3 types of beef courses – Standard Course (¥3,800 per person), Special Course (¥5,800 per person) and Premium Course (¥7,800 per person). I tried their special course on my first visit and premium course on the second visit. There are differences between these 2 courses, so scroll down to check them out.
Special Course comes with assorted appetizers, Matsusaka Marbled beef sushi, Matsusaka short rib with garlic sauce, house salad, 4 different parts of matsusaka beef (mainly marbled beef), garlic rice and dessert

Both sets came with similar appetizers

Beef Platter (this serving was for 6 pax) from the Special Course, served with 4 different parts – M Rib eye, Ohtoro karubi, Short rib, maboroshi.
Beef Platter (this serving was for 1 pax) from the Premium Course, served with 4 different parts – Haneshita, Kyukyoku, Hiuchi, Flap Meat.
Beef Platters for both Special (serving for 2 pax) and Premium Course (serving for 1 pax)
The marbling of the beef was amazing, appeared in pinkish pink interlacing with the whitish fats. Perfect ratio. It was very delicious with the melt in mouth texture, especially the highest grade one just melted like butter on the palate. Unforgettable, just unforgettable. With very minimal seasoning such as salt, the grilled beef turned out mind-blowing! The course is pretty huge. When it comes to the beef platter, I will suggest you to savour the highest grade first or else you might feel jelak if keeping it for the last.
