Afternoon tea is what we normally go with a cup of coffee or tea. At most, that will be champagne for a luxe version of afternoon tea. But when afternoon tea is to pair with Gin cocktail, it takes my call for it! How interesting!!!
MAZE
The mystery looking MAZE, has a dual identity. It is a coffee saloon by the day and gin parlour by the night. Also known as the first gin parlour in Malaysia; equipped with over 200 labels of Gin from all over the world upto today, serving you gin-tastic cocktails.
I am really amazed with the gin label over here. There are so many unknown gins available on the menu; with descriptions given as well as pairing with the fruits for more flavours.
Furnished with chic and sophisticated decors and paintings; Cosy and quiet ambience with elegant setting. I love how the place is decorated. It is classy and very photogenic, perfect for Instagram shot.
Since it’s the coffee saloon by the day, so expect yourself to get some delicacies to go along with the tea or coffee.

Rm 78 ++ for a set of afternoon tea, comes with bite size sweet and savoury; and 2 hot beverages. You can choose from TWG Tea or Zing Tea of your choice or long black or latte. We had the Blackcurrant & Hibiscus Zing Tea and TWG Grand Wedding Tea (with refillable hot water). We also had extra order of latte that came with cute and pretty latte art.
The delicacies were laid prettily in the tea tray. Love that Premium 3-layer Chocolate Slice that was super thick and rich in chocolaty taste, Butter Croissant with Salted Egg Yolk Dip that was so on the point, mixed fruit tart and hazelnut tart, and also all the savouries on the tray. Just lovely!
Where is the gin??? Well, you can top up Rm 26++ each for their signature gin cocktails. There are 5 on the selection.
The Reviver (Rm 35)
Gin, fresh lime juice, fresh blackberries, elder flower
Love this so much. It was very refreshing for the hot sunny day like right now. It gave a very summer flavour, tangy, cooling and revitalising.
Love Potion (Rm 37)
Gin, homemade honey rose, fresh lemon juice, egg white
One sip, in love!
Cakes are available too if you don’t feel like having the tea set.
Lychee Watermelon (Rm 13)
Refreshing summer inspired cake with layers of sponge, watermelon in lychee and grape cream and topped with strawberries, lychees, grapes and pistachios.
Baked Pandan Gula Melaka Cheesecake (Rm 13)
A truly Malaysian style baked cheesecake that infused with flavours and colours of Pandan leaves and Gula Melaka.
Banana Walnut (RM 13)
Combination of banana, walnuts and raisins; topped with cream cheese frosting.
Remember I said this is the gin parlour at night? You may order your gin and pair it with Gin-Sum (Rm 38). It is actually pushcart comes with assorted fresh fruits and herbs to complement your Gin. Feel free to mix and match your gin with the fruits available. You may find surprises with the pairing; or, to play safe, can always read the recommended pairing from the menu.
