The Eighth Avenue Bar . Bistro . Restaurant @ Solaris Dutamas, KL
Dimly lit, cosy ambience that allows one to relax after the hectic works and stay in to sway along with the music. That’s how a bistro restaurant works to me; nibble on delicious plate and on the other hand, downing a glass of chilled cooling alcoholic beverages to soothe the body and kick off the tiredness after a long day.
Here I am in…
The Eighth Avenue Bar . Bistro . Restaurant
With pretty murals on the wall, is all designed and decorated by the owners. A bar, bistro and restaurant that serves classic comfort Australian-European dishes, ranging from appetizers to mains, from pizza to pasta; all of which have the oink oink pork included into their delicious hearty dishes.
Not many places will feature Hendricks as their signature drink but The Eighth Avenue Bar . Bistro . Restaurant does so. One of the highlights, they have this list of interesting yet special cocktails, infused with the boss’s favourite – Gin Hendricks. For all the gin’s lovers, kindly note down this place! Their infused gin is crystal clear, dosed with refreshing crisp. I find it more easy-going than the usual gin. Some is added with fragrant rose flavour while some is citrusy and fruity; ended with a note that is warm and soothing.
Cucumber Spritz (Rm 44.90)
Hendricks, fresh cucumber, lime slices, soda water & a spring of mint
Boss’s Favourite (Rm 44.90)
Hendricks, cucumber ribbon, lemon & juicy pomegranate seeds.
Local Sling (Rm 44.90)
The local’s favourite that is made up of assamboi, a touch of kaffir, lime syrup, lime, and soda water.
Queen of Hearts (Rm 44.90)
Hendricks, king Lychee, strawberry slices, lemon & soda water.
Lychee Pork Poppers (Rm 28.90)
Deep fried lychee stuffed with minced pork.
Sticky Piggy (Rm 22.90)
Pork ribs stewed, and then grilled to perfection over flames of heat. Served with toppings of caramelized apple and sticky sauce.
Braised Pork Cheeks (Rm 35.90)
Succulent braised pork cheeks prepared in red wine served with truffle potato mash. Need no explain much as the description says it all! Succulent!
Oink Oink Sambal Pasta (Rm 29.90)
Pork slices cooked in homemade sambal paste, tossed with your favourite pasta and a dose of cream. Something different from the pasta we had, the western pasta touches with the Asian flavours that every local loves.
Honey Glazed BBQ Ribs (Rm 49.90)
A great stuff for sharing, with easily pulled off meat from the ribs, smoky and tender; giving a fingers-licking good moment.
Karate Piggy Chop (Rm 44.90)
Another favourite of mine. Extremely tender pork chop that was moist, with its juice still locked within each strand of the proteins.
Chicken Pot Pie (Rm 25.90)
Chicken thigh cooked in cream with mushroom and vegetables, covered with puff pastry and baked till golden crispy brown, side of garden salad.
Creme Brulee (Rm 18.90)
Sizzling Brownie Point (Rm 21.90)
This sizzling brownie is on the point. Brownies topped with chilling vanilla ice-cream and drenched with chocolate sauce right on a piping hot sizzler plate. That sizzling sound moment was a very boomerang and insta-story moment.
