Birthday Celebration @ Hanaya Japanese Dining, KL
The bff-s threw me the sweetest birthday celebration ever!
They know me so well and planned me the sweetest theme ever – floral and dated me to my favourite place for lunch.
Hanaya Japanese Dining 華家
I have been to Hanaya for a few times and their food is promising and impresses me always. On my birthday, I self-declared half day off; took the half day off (Right, cz I never get to have birthday off, always) and joined the girls for a yummy lunch.
Their lunch menu was pretty extensive. You have a choice of set meal with each main course except for a la carte. Choose between rice set, salad set, or udon set. The rice set comes with steamed rice, miso soup, chawan mushi (Japanese steamed egg custard) and mini dish. Salad set comes with small size salad, deep-fried tofu, mini dish, and fruits. The udon set comes with small size udon noodles, chawan mushi and mini dish. All meals are ended with a dessert.
Hanaya’s Special Bento Box (Rm 85)
Chef’s recommendation bento box. Beautiful and classy, all the ingredients were presented in the 2 layers elegant lacquered bento box. This bento set came with fresh sashimi, braised beef topped with ebikko, salad, tamago and etc. what I wanna highlight was their miso soup which was overloaded with ingredients and tasted so fresh!
Assorted Tempura (Rm 75)
Prawn tempura and assorted vegetables tempura. The tempura batter was thin, crisy and non-greasy at all after deep frying into perfection. The ingredients were fresh especially the prawn as it was packed with amai-ness.
Wagyu Beef Rib-eye Steak (Rm 90)
Australian Wagyu beef rib-eye steak was served sizzling on the hotplate. Dressed with pinkish hues and the core was in beautiful reddish tone; that perfect medium texture beef steak was extremely succulent and flavourful. Love pairing it with a bowl of fluffy white pearl rice, with its oil bits from the beef slices touched up the grains. *gulp* just keep wanting for more!
3 kinds of Grilled Fish (Rm 85)
Assorted grilled fish of the day came with gindara (cod fish), saba (mackerel) and sake (salmon). My oh my, I had to say they have done it right. The fully-filled omega 3 and 6, that inviting grease that landed on the taste buds was so aromatic.
Our meals ended with refreshing and tangy Yuzu Sorbet and a piece of dainty dessert pairing with matcha ice cream.
So sweet of the team, they came in with a plate of lit up dessert, small gift and complementary drinks!
With the loves of my life 🙂
So blessed having these gals around on my big day!
