Christmas Eve Dinner Menu @ Colonial Café, Majestic KL

It’s here again! The last month of the year, the cheerful month. I believe many are in the holiday festive mood now, busy with their Christmas shopping and waiting for the day to come. Have you all thought of the place to get-together?! I find Colonial Café at Majestic Hotel KL is a great place for party and gathering.

This season, Majestic KL also launched their very first Majestic Christmas album with The Solianos, one of the most talented musical families in Malaysia. Also, the only family in Malaysian show business who can claim a heritage of jazz that dates back into the nation’s history, many thanks to Alfonso and Tony Soliano, who were living legends in their time. You can find the album in The Majestic Hotel KL and it is priced at Rm 60 nett per album. Their soothing jazzy songs are gonna be in the air in my house till Christmas.

It was so aromatic and very well spiced! Such a yummy booster before the dinner.

Amuse Bouche
Salmon, crème fraiche, fresh dill
A very refreshing appetizer with a tangy taste; with smoked salmon to go along with crème fraiche and fresh dill.

Starter
Seared bay scallop, white asparagus and broad beans, paired with Huntaway Marlborough Sauvignonn Blanc New Zealand.
Beautifully seared scallop coupled amazingly with the tender white asparagus, pairing great with the white wine served. That freshness was something unforgettable.

Soup
Australian red onion soup with Gruyere toasts
A tummy warmer after some appetizer; definitely warmed our heart as well as the body as it was rainy that night. The onion soup was sweet and light, yet flavourful; contrasted with the rich creamy and nutty gruyere toasts.

Sorbet
Raspberry sorbet

Main Course
Roasted turkey with parsnip mashed, roasted root vegetables, stuffing and giblet gravy, paired with Sister’s Run Epiphany McLaren Vale Shiraz Australia.
I often find turkey meat is dry but this one proofed my judgement wrong. It was moist and tender, with rich stuffing and drenched with the flavourful giblet gravy.

Dessert
Orange parfait with cinnamon crumble, grapefruit sherbet.
Our sweet ending was the very festive looking dessert. Filled with citrusy flavour of orange and grapefruit with a hint of cinnamon spice in the crumble, love how it was. Also, it refreshed the whole taste buds and made you leave with a lighter ‘feel’ even though you were already full after the few courses.
