The Forking Cork – Wine & Whisky Entrepreneur Bar @ OUG, KL
The Forking Cork
The neighbourhood wine and whisky bar, with a cheeky name on the sign board, situated in the quiet neighbourhood of OUG area; works as a place for some business talk, a space for the working crowd to drop by after working hour, chill and wine down some bottles along with some comfort dishes.
The place is dimly lit, decorated with funky chandelier, furnished with comfy sofa, high chairs and table. Pick up your preference seats and relax with the glass in your hand.
“Bring me the wine menu!!!”
Sorry, there is no wine menu over here.
If you fancy over some wine, just head over to the trespassers zone – the wine cellar and check it out yourself. If you are not too sure which to choose from, do not hesitate to ask for recommendation. The staffs are more than willing to help out to select one based on your preference.
The wine collection here is ranging from old world wines to new world wines. We had a short wine sharing session before seated down for a glass. Boy, there are really a lot to learn about wine. Generally, old world wines tend to have lighter taste, higher acidity and less fruity in flavours while new world wines are vice versa. The wines here are priced affordably. If you have extra to splurge on, they have vintage bottles that come with limited edition or limited quantity too which can hike up to thousand over.
Grilled Teriyaki Chicken Skewer (Rm 15 for 3 pcs)
Which I find this going well with whisky (if you are ordering whisky).
Baked NZ Mussels topped with Cheese and White Wine Sauce (Rm 18 for 4 pcs)
Spaghetti Carbonara with Bacon and Sausage (Rm 24)
Carbonara always turns great with bacon! Agree???
Grilled Lamb Rack with Plum Sauce (Rm 40)
Pan Seared Norwegian Salmon with Avocado Lemon Cream Sauce (Rm 30)
My favourite of all dishes over here. Fresh salmon fillet with the layer of crumble skin to go with the velvety avocado lemon cream sauce and the creamy mashed.
Grilled Iberico Pork with Honey Mustard Glaze (Rm 45)
Parked on a bed of mashed, the grilled iberico pork was juicy and bursting with flavours.
Pan Seared Avocado stuffed Chicken wrapped in Bacon (Rm 28)
Deep Fried Shrimp Paste Chicken Wing (Rm 16 for 4 pcs)
Deep Fried Chicken Popcorn with Honey Mustard Dressing (Rm 20)
Finger fried food are always the boozes’ best friends. Never go wrong ordering this to go with a glass or two. Love the pairing of homemade honey mustard dressing, spicy, sweet and sourish that will keep you going over and over again.
