Weizhi’s Birthday Fiesta @ Marta’s Kitchen, Desa Sri Hartamas
Happy birthday to Citygal!
Right, it is Citygal’s big day today and I need to #throwback on what we have thrown her last weekend. It has been a while since the last theme party. Christine and I always wanna have a bash for Citygal but there were only 2 of us to make her something big. Glad to have her tai-tai #competitiveauntie gang around, managed to work out a colourful and pretty birthday bash for her at Marta’s Kitchen.
Weizhi’s Birthday Fiesta
A colourful Spanish theme birthday party because the girl loves to travel and Barcelona is one of her favourite places in her list. The pretty ladies brained out all these. Thanks to the masterminds HuiWen, Audrey, Careen and Bobo. It was a super fun night out. I love this theme so much because it is very vibrant and colourful! Colours bright up the day and the mood.
Behind the scene, the preparation done like… an hour before the party started. We were all there on time to do the bits decoration.
Colourful balloons – checked, rose bouquet – checked, fresh flowers for decor – checked…
And more colours…
Everything single thing was arranged so detail-y.
The happy girl!
One group photo before the dinner
Of course, Spanish theme must be accompanied with yummy Spanish cuisine. Marta’s Kitchen is a fine hidden gem in Desa Sri Hartamas, located inside a serviced-suites building, The Signature; serving authentic Spanish cuisine such as tapas, paella and one of the best churros in town.
Booze of the night – Sangria (Rm 95 per jar), the homemade signature cocktails: “summer wine” with fruits.
Since there were 7 of us, we ordered 2 sets of Tapas para 2 (Rm 140) which is the set meal comes with a few tapas, paella and churros.
Escalibada
Roasted pepper and eggplant marinated in balsamico vinegar and extra virgin olive oil with a touch a garlic and parsley
Chicken Mushroom Croquestas
Crispy creamy fried croquette with chicken and mushroom as fillings. So good!
Serrano Ham with Tomato Bread
Savoury Serrano ham, served with the special tomato bread. The bread was amazingly good with a refreshing sourish hint to go with the savoury ham.
Potatos Bravas
This was so addictive; crispy fried potatoes with spicy tomato sauce and aioli.
Squid a la “Romana”
Paella Valenciana
Moist and fluffy paella, infused with the essence of prawns, mussels, squid and seafood.
Instead of small pan portion, marta’s kitchen cooks their paella in a large batch in the big family-style pan and serves them in plate. You are able to see the chef in making through the glass-showcased kitchen.
Churros with Chocolate Dip
The must have if you were here. Golden fried churros served with chocolate dip; crunchy on the outside and warm fluffy on the inside. Remember to save some tummy spaces for this.
How can we not having group photos with birthday girl?! And birthday song singing too! Zhi, stay sweet, stay pretty, stay healthy, stay cheerful, stay happy and may everything the best be with you! Love ya!!!
Thank you ladies for the great efforts. Nice meeting you all too! And many thanks to Careen for the photos.
