Japan Trip 2015: 9D8N Tokyo, Kawaguchiko & Kamakura
March to April is the time that people floods over to Japan for the short but beautiful and scenic Hanami; the cherry blossom viewing in spring. Besides spring, autumn is also the season that is crowded with people for its Momiji; autumn red leaves.
Right, I just came back from Tokyo not too long ago, but my heart and soul are still left in Japan. Sigh, how to get over this?! And now, my Instagram and facebook timeline are now filled friends with momiji in Japan where the maple trees are all turning red now. So beautiful!!! Guess the only way to get rid of this lovesick towards Japan is … plan another trip to Japan again!!!!!
Here is the summary about my trip. Will try to upload more about the details and daily activities on the places I have visited (as soon as I can. I have yet to finish my travel tale last year. Ops).

Exchange rate back then: 1000yen = Rm 33
Here is the breakdown ofspending of my trip, exclude shopping of course. For a 9-days-8-nights trip in Japan, we spent about Rm 4500 per pax. We even get to experience the most shiawase stay in the onsen hotel included the luxury half board dining.
Highlights of my trip
.
1. Super fresh and amai seafood in Tsukiji Market
Look at those otoro and uni.
So fresh, succulent, and relatively cheap (if compared with Malaysia lar). Just eat them all! Regretted for not getting more but our tummies were left no rooms.
2. Visit the Tsukiji Honganji Temple
It has a very distinctive ambience and exterior that is not seen in other Japanese temples.
3. The must do at Asakusa
4. Hop up to the tallest building in Japan and catch the sunset
Tokyo Skytree, the tallest building in Japan; standing high at 634 meters and has a large shopping complex and an aquarium at its base.
Was lucky to catch the sunset too! We were here at the right time.
5. Be in the human traffic at Shibuya Crossing
6. Check out the beautiful JR station at night
7. Slurp up the best ramen in this 24 hours ramen house
8. Dating with Fuji-san
Mesmerize the amazing Mount Fuji here at Kawaguchiko
9. Eat Hōtō when in Kawaguchiko
10. Picture with the cute kokia balls and continued dating with Fuji-san.
Kokia is known as Bassia scoparia; it was green in color and turns red in autumn.
11. Momiji fever
12. Splurge on the most shiawase stay in an onsen hotel
Sometimes, there is something you just need to splurge on. That will be the experience that worth spending on.
I chose to stay in Fujikawaguchiko Onsen Konanso. Went for the hot spring bath and foot bath and get pampered with the most shiawase kaiseki course dinner and breakfast.
I got the best deal at HotelsCombined. It is a great platform to compare the hotel prices among all the vendors.
13. Ride on the “En Soleil” Excurssion Ship to tour around the lake
If the weather is good, you might get the view of Fuji-san. But he decided not to date me today and hide himself within the fog. Sigh…
14. Shop till you drop in Gotemba Premium Outlet
15. Learn more about Kirin beer at Kirin Beer Brewery
And drink ‘em up in 20 minutes time.
16. Mesmerize the romantic Yokohama’s night
17. Be a kid in Tokyo Disneysea
This is the land for everyone. This is the place not just for youngsters and children. But adults and elderly too because my parents also love having fun in here!!!
18. Going zen in Kamakura
19. Walk over to Enoshima
On the 600meters long bridge. We had too little time for all, so we did not discover really a lot on Enoshima. Will be back for sure.
20. Eat all the desserts here!!!
Be it cheese cake, ice cream, waffles, cream puff, pastries… eat them all! Well, this is pretty impossible because there are too many to try!
For more travel tales and details, stay tune ya. I will update slowly (if there is time) 🙂 .
How much you spend for the trip minus airfare?
hi Ryan,
That will be roughly rm 3700 exclude shopping and airfare. (accommodation, transport, food and entrance fee are included)
Hello
To check, can we use the metropass to Disney?
thanks!
If I am not mistaken, Disneyland/ Disneysea is accessible by JR rail line to Maihama station and then the special disney line into disneyland, so metropass is unable to use on JR railway. and there is a separated ticket on disney monorail into the park. 🙂 hope this helps.
