The Front Door Café @ Jalan Sultan, KL
How about a sip of coffee after the early morning breakkie here in the Chinatown?!
Here you go…
The Front Door
Tucked in the historic building on Jalan Sultan – Selangor Grocer’s Guild, The Front Door shared the same premise with Grocer’s Inn, serving fanciful of open toasts that is coloured with fresh ingredients that really melt ones heart. Not to mention, they have pretty good cuppa along with other good servings of dishes aside from their signature toast.
With unfurnished cement floors and exposed red bricked wall, equipped with a cold bar counter, wooden table and metal chairs. A lil’ semi industry as a whole contrasted with the historic building. Really love how the presented interior.
Since it was just after the morning breakkie in Chinatown, I decided to sit in and had a good sip on the cuppa, shared a few toasts with the others before checking out the books and flowers nearby. That was how a Sunday meant to be.
Flat White
The Front Door Signature Toasts: 1 slices (Rm 6); Set of 3 slices (Rm 18); Set of 5 slices (Rm 25) and of course, the greater, the cheaper.
Toast with honey, cheddar, beef bacon and strawberry.
Toast with Cream cheese, asparagus, sautéed mushroom, hard-boiled egg.
Toast with Cream cheese, cucumber ribbon, smoked salmon, capers.
Toast with Cream cheese, sliced avocado, fried egg.
Toast with Pesto, grilled chicken, caramelized orange.
These toasts were pretty interesting. Like I mentioned earlier, they were really fancy and colourful. Their combinations for the toasts were attention-catching. Didn’t know beef bacon and strawberry married well in a dish. So do pesto and caramelized orange on the grilled chicken toast. Time to get some inspiration and make them at home!
