Caffe Bene @ Solaris Mon’t Kiara, KL

Thanks to the K-Pop craze. There are more and more K brands (cosmetic, fashion… etc) coming into Malaysia. Same goes to food and beverages field, aside from Korean restaurant, there are few Korean café joints out there, always crowded and packed with youngs and olds. And this one too, is no longer a stranger to us.

Caffe Bene

The largest coffee house chain in South Korea with numerous international stores in China, USA, Philippines, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Mongolia, Japan, Singapore and has now reached to Malaysia. Caffe Bene means “Good Café” where Bene means “good” or “well”; is a unique Korean culture café that combines the European café culture in it. Just like the usual café, they serve brewed coffee, pastries, desserts and their special Korean Latte and Bingsu.

I have always wanted to try it out ever since their first opening in Malaysia. However, it often pulled me off due to the heavy crowds. Good to hear that they have expanded and this outlet is so much nearer.

Garlic and Cheese Bread (Rm 16) was the thick toast of Honey Bread layered with garlic butter and generously drizzled with melted cheese. Quite a great combination it was and the garlic butter was really fragrant. I wish the toast was made crunchier and crispier, like how it is in After You; then it will be even more addictive. We also tried on the many talk-about bingsu – Strawberry Bingsu (Rm 10.8). Their flavoured shaved ice comes in 2 sizes, small or double; we had the small one. As like how it was showed on the replica display, it was topped with a scope of strawberry gelato, red beans and strawberry slices and puree on a bed of coarse chilling ice, and also drizzled with milk. We love the presentation. Somehow, this dessert was on the sweeter side, especially the red bean and the drizzled sweeten milk. My favourite Bingsu is still from Nabe Bakery Café. As for their drinks, I found that they were really mild and has nothing to shout out about.
