Wow Korean Fried Chicken @ Desa Sri Hartamas, KL
Masshisoyo!
Fried chicken and beer again. Anyone??? It’s in KL this round!!!
A very humble gem that is located in Desa Sri Hartamas, taking place at the first floor of the premise. It was really difficult to allocate as the restaurant’s name is written in Korean. So, do check out standing banner at the vibrant staircase corridor.
Wow Korean Fried Chicken
The restaurant is decorated in many cute and artistic prints/painting; dimly lit, with brick partitions or cubicles for seating so that you and your friends can enjoy eating in the “room”. Be prepared to wait for about 30 mins before you can dig in with your hands and chopsticks. They prepare your fried chicken freshly and serve it piping hot on your table.
We had the Set A (Rm 37) which consists of Half fried chicken, French fries, 3 pieces of fried dumplings, pickle and coke. Served with spicy mustard sauce and chilli sauce. For the half chicken, we had the Fried Chicken Breast with Green Onion which is highly recommended by a friend of mine, @moca. At first I wondered, why is she so addicted to the fried chicken breast?! Till I tried it out. It was seriously addictive. The fried chicken breast was crispy, greaseless and the bursting with flavours. Most importantly, it was very juicy and moist even though chicken breasts were used in it. Topped with fresh spring onions for extra fragrance. Really very yummy! And and and, the dipping mustard sauce gave an extra ohmmmm to the fried chicken!
Pickled daikon cubes to chill the tongue.
Fried Chicken in Spicy Sauce (Rm 25 for half chicken)
Fried chicken coated with spicy sauce, it was more like sweet sauce for us. This was a little disappointing as the meat was dry. Guess we shall stick to the fried chicken breast with green onion.
Kimchi Fried Rice was just ordinary and has nothing to shout out about. But we just can’t miss out any carbo in our meal.
Stir Fried Octopus with Noodles (Rm 40)
Stir fried of cabbage, carrots, pumpkin, vege and octopus in the spicy sauce and garnished with fragrant sesame seeds, served along with noodles on the side. Toss in the noodles before enjoying it.
It was a very fiery spicy dish that is catered for spicy food lover. Am not a fan of it as it was way too spicy!
And don’t forget the fried chicken’s best friend – Lemon Soju (Rm 25)
As they do not serve Korean beer, so we had Soju with lots of lemon added in for a tinge of sourish in our soju. Wish there are more selection like raspberry soju or grapefruit soju other than just lemon and cucumber in the menu.
By the way, Wow Korean Fried Chicken provides delivery service around Mon’t Kiara area too. if the cravings hit you at midnight, you can still get them coz Wow is opened until 2am.
