SINGAPORE: Chye Seng Huat Hardware
Photos by Samsung Galaxy S5 & Lumix LX7
Suddenly I have too much to talk about but I have no idea where to start. Perhaps I should come up with this one, my very recent visit to our neighbour country, Singapore.
Many have talked about this. Hence, I decided to take my friend, hop on the train and travel down the Lavender Station straightaway after we reached Singapore with the blurry mind. Ahhhaa, time for coffee!
Chye Seng Huat Hardware looks like a run-down hardware shop at the first glance. Somehow, one may think, is this a coffee place?! But once you push open the door, you may find surprises. Managed by the folks behind Papa Palheta, Loystel’s Toy and Pulp (yes, it’s in KL), Chye Seng Huat is actually a coffee place, housed a trendy 360 degree coffee bar counter and decorated in quite a vintage way.
Time for my drink. I had their Espresso with milk (Sgd 5.5) which really good. It was creamy and velvety. It definitely topped my favourite list. Can’t wait to try out Pulp!
Huat ahhh!
My friend had their refreshing tangy Homemade Lemonade (Sgd 5) to kill away the heat.
We both also shared some tummy fillers. Crab Meat Aglio Olio (Sgd 16)
Garnished with garlic, chilli, olive oil and coriander, we love this Asian twist in the Italian noodles.
The Huat Breakfast v 2.0 (Sgd 17)
Huge breakfast set that came with 2 eggs (with a choice of scrambled, sunny side up or overeasy), ham steak, 2 pork sausages, grilled tomato & potato salad and served with a buttery croissant on the side. The scrambled egg was flurry and airy while the potato salad was pretty tangy and boosted our appetite.
Ended with Burrrrppps… I love their coffee a lot! Can’t wait to head down Pulp to satisfy the crave!
