Eat, Experience and Travel with locals!
I had an amazing trip to the Northern Thailand, Chiang Mai with the bff kampungboycitygal couple last year. We spent a 4 days trip over there. It was a fantastic one. However, we didn’t get to explore every corner due to some time-wasting on getting down the roads/places and we couldn’t understand their language/direction (as not many can speak fluent English) which made us lost. LOL.
Am pretty sure this comes handy when one wish to travel in Asian countries especially you are not familiar with their language but you wish to explore more about their lifestyle and culture.
Withlocals.com is a platform that is made to connect the travellers with the local people in Asia through the special skills and home dining experiences offered by the locals. There are so many to explore and I have found something interesting and I have missed out during my trip to Chiang Mai. Didn’t know there is hot spring in Chiang Mai!!! I think I need a local to bring me up to the hot spring area on the next trip! Cut out the troubles of getting a guide or public transport and the price is reasonable too. Hehe.
Also, explore the Lanna Culture of Northern Thailand through making Lanna Lanterns with the Thai teacher. Interesting!
There is the cooking class too! It highlights that the guests will get to visit the local market, learn about Thai herbs and the authentic Thai cooking skills, and finally be awarded with certificate and a cook book. This sounds really fun and so much about their food and culture.

I think I should start planning a trip to Northern Thailand again. There is so much to explore and experience. Perhaps year end during their Loi Krathong festival. Great job, guys! This is such a good way to connect with the local people, get into their culture and at the same time, they get income from offering the skills to the guests. Will definitely engage with the locals through this platform to fulfill those I wish to see and explore in Northern Thailand.
