ENJU Japanese Restaurant which is located on the second floor of Prince Hotel KL is one of the participating restaurants in this KL Restaurant Week, featuring 2 different menus for lunch and 2 types for dinner.
One of the Lunch Menus (Rm38 nett)
Gyuniku Shogayaki To Salmon Koroke Zen
Thinly-sliced Australian beef sirloin pan-fried with ginger sauce
Crispy homemade salmon croquette with cheese
Highland greens salad with wasabi dressing
Steamed egg custard
Green tea ice cream with red bean compote
Set lunches include an appetizer, miso soup, Japanese pickles
and steamed white rice
And we sampled one of the dinner menus that night; priced at Rm 78 nett
Grilled baby sardine sheets, grilled eggplant with miso paste and spinach leaves in light soya sauce
The sardine sheet, a salty and fragrant crispy cracker! Very interesting piece of sardine sheet; get a closer look and you will see little eyes all over the sheet. Paired with grilled eggplant with miso paste and spinach leaves; the eggplant maybe a little salty due to the miso paste, but try to top the spinach leaves on to the eggplant, it was a pretty good combination with sweetness from the spinach leaves and savoury miso paste-d eggplant.
Yellow fin tuna, sweet prawn, cuttlefish and yellowtail
Very very very fresh cuts of sashimi. Love the buttery yellowtail and sweet succulent prawn very much!
Glazed pan-fried duck liver on braised white radish
The chef’s signature!!! Melt-in-mouth pan-fried fat duck liver with its texture that mimics the goose foie gras! With the price of Rm 78nett per set, this is oh so value for money. Not to mention, the braised white radish were all absorbed and adsorbed with the flavourful broth.
Omgly good!
Thin udon noodles topped with grilled slices of Australian beef sirloin, Shimeiji mushrooms and onions
While the others love their udon in a thicker version or be done in a more al dente way, I find thin udon was pretty interesting too! A contrast to the beef; slurpy smooth and soft udon with a little textured beef. I fancy the udon the most!
Strawberry glutinous rice balls in coconut milk topped with tapioca and red beans
Very pretty dessert and I find it quite Malaysian-Japanese. Brimmed with strawberries, dragon fruits, kiwi and lots of sago, hidden underneath it was the chewy glutinous rice balls that went so well with the dash of red bean paste and coconut milk. Yummay!
