Swich Café @ Publika
Swich Café is always in my to-try-list. They have the main branch located in HP Tower which is a little inconvenient for me to drop by. I got so excited when I saw that they are opening in Publika which is somewhere nearer and somewhere I am familiar with.
Swich Café is located in between Baby Loft and Wings at Level G3, Publika Mall. The passageway is occupied with their classic white tables and chairs, with natural light shines through the clear glasses from the top/roof; creating a casual ambiance for an afternoon tea. But then, I will be delighted if I get to sit indoor with cozy ambiance (inside a shop/premise, i meant) and enjoy my afternoon tea. The selection of food and main dishes may be limited if compared to their main branch; but not the desserts and cakes. Their desserts chillers are always full with choices, sometimes with surprises.
I was here twice. On the first visit, my BFF’s Flat White was done way tooooo hot. Glad to find that they have improved in their coffee. The temperature was just right to the oral cavity.
Cappuccino
Espresso
Soft Shell Crab with Salted Egg Pizza (Rm 11.90/quarter) was very special; with the fusion of ingredients from the east into the western recipe, it was a memorable one with the salty and spicy flavours, crunchy and juicy bits.
Walnut Pine Nut Pesto Pasta (Rm 17.90) was special too but slightly a bit bland.
Chicken Rendang Burger (Rm 17.90)
Swich’s Cempedak Tutti Fruitti
Cempedak sponge with chunks of fresh cempedak, frosted with cempedak cream and garnished with mango and toasted coconut. The layer of sponge was infused with cempedak flavours from tiny bits of fresh cempedak. It was good, really good; just that I am not a fan of cempedak, the flavour was a bit too strong to me.
Mangosteen Cake
Made with mangosteens and touch of pomegranate, frosted with mangosteen cream and topped with fresh mangosteens. Love it. I really love how they use local fruits as a theme in their baking. The sponge is fluffy and airy, lightly flavoured with mangosteen. Yum!!! My only gripe is, the size of the slice is small.
Valrhona Chocolate Cake
It was seriously rich, moist and buttery; Very home-baked feel! My friends and I fancied this a lot, rich chocolaty taste was what we need after lunch.
Walnut Butterscotch Cake
One of the bestsellers; the cake was buttery and not too sweet; topped with lots of walnuts, it was very homey too!
I so wanna to try the others such as Horlicks Malt Cake, avocado cake, moist apricot cake, jackfruit hummingbird cake, Black Gold Mango Cake, Red Dragonfruit Velvet, burnt sugar cake…
Omggg, my I-Must-Stop-Eating plan gone lah…
