Restoran 52 @ Semenyih
Straight forward, easy to remember name.
Restoran 52
Thanks to Chris who discovered this earlier and brought us all here. Located in Semenyih, not too far away from Kajang Perdana, this is a hidden gem that has been here for a long time, serving palatable dai chow dishes that are priced affordably. A house-turned-into-restaurant; this place could be very crowded during meal times. Do come here at least half an hour to your own meal time as they might take at least 30 mins to do your ordered dishes. We wanna try their signature Abacus seed 算盘子. Too bad, it was sold out. The other signatures are such as Curry Fish Head, Loh Shu Fun, Claypot ribs with yam, Butter Squid, Fresh water prawns egg noodles and many more.
Dark Beer Ribs 黑啤排骨 (Rm 12)
The ribs were tender and painted in very dark in colour, well, dark black it was; love the flavourful caramelized sticky dark stout coating, kinda different from what we normally had from other places.
Light deep fried tilapia 油滑非洲 (Rm 32)
Fried or steam??? The fish seems like it was steamed instead of being fried. Warm oil was used to fry the fish. The meat was succulent and not overly done. Topped with birds eye chilli, ginger shredded and garlic and then drenched with soya sauce. Who doesn’t like it?!
Salted Egg Squids 咸蛋蘇东 (Rm 12)
The squid slices were coated with salted eggs and flavoured with the spiciness from the dried chillies and the fragrance from the curry leaves. I couldn’t help myself sucking the dried chillies and curry leaves for the salted egg yolk bits.
Salt Baked Chicken Wings 盐焗鸡翅 (Rm 9 for 3 pairs)
It seems more light deep fried instead of baked eh?! Very well marinated, salty and peppery taste!
Hot Plate Hor Fun 铁板河粉 (Rm 12)
An interesting dish it was! Flat rice noodles (hor fun) served on a sizzling hot plate. Very similar to the Cantonese-fry “wat tan hor”; slurp-y smooth!
Stir Fry Sweet Potato Leaves 清炒树苗(Rm 10)

The sotong look like quite oily~~
but it doesn’t taste oily
The fish looks super fresh. I like all of those leafy greens too.
I’ve been there twice. It’s one of the cheapest restaurant that provide delicious chinese cuisine.
