The “Big” Party… @ Bistro 42, Bangsar Village 2
Finish with Last Year’s Story, it is time to start up with this year’s story/-ies…
And this year’s story began with…
A PARTY!!!
Our Afternoon High Tea Party
At…
Bistro 42
Another bright idea brought up by the Big Group which is focusing on the modern bistro fares.
We were seated at the garden-open-area outside the main restaurant, on the comfy purplish cushioned sofa facing the greenery and shared-tables-and-chairs with huge garden umbrellas. Awww, just like having the meal in the garden! In fact, it was located in this shopping mall with air-con. (Well, I don’t think we can stand the heat-y temperature for an outdoor afternoon tea now).
High T42
Served from 3 to 6pm daily
RM 59.90 for 2 to share
(enough for 3 to share which we did)
Accompanied by your choice of tea or coffee.
We had Turkish Apple and Gorgeous Geisha
Turkish Apple came with sourish hint, rather appetizing one while Gorgeous Geisha – delicious blend of green tea and sweet, ripe strawberries. The tea itself has a fresh, fruity scent; on the tongue, the fruity taste disappeared and turned out to be typical green tea.
We had another pot of tea to share.
Gen Mai Cha Sencha (RM 9.90 per pot).
Our 3-tier-afternoon high tea set
Savouries
House-cured salmon open sandwich with dill mascarpone on Danish toast
Cucumber & cream cheese finger sandwiches
Mini quiche lorraines
Egg mayo & ranch chicken sandwiches on baby cuboid loaves.
We were happy with the savoury items. Love everything nicely laid on the bottom tier.
Sweets
Fresh baked scones with clotted cream & berry preserves
Madeleines, marshmallows, macarons
Baby raspberry jam doughnuts
The fresh baked scones were good. However, I still prefer the one from Smokehouse.
Also choose any one dessert from the display
We had the Strawberry chocolate mousse cake, which came in a thick cut, double layer of mousse and fluffy sponge cake and prettily decorated with lots of fresh strawberries. Love the velvety texture of the mousse cake =]

hi minchow, thanks for dropping by.
hope you like my new home.
and happy new year to you too!!!!
The high tea for 2 is recommended. Taste and ambience factor is good!
But my 1st experience with them didn’t turn out too well.
They actually billed us for 2 pots of tea until we realised how come we’re paying close to RM90 plus for the high tea set. It was good that they rectified the error when we spotted it (after paying of course):P
Hopefully my return session will be error free.
Wee.. I love high tea! Thanks for the recommendation Ai Wei! And Smokehouse got serve high tea too?
