Antipodean Cafe @ Jalan Telawi 2, Bangsar
Chris: For Christine’s birthday celebration, we will do brunch this round.
Us: Okay! That’s great! We can have brunch and then shopping together nearby!!!
Chris: Nope, you gals are only allowed to have her till 11am. If you gals wanna have her for longer period of time, meet up early!!!
Us: That will be breakfast liao lor, not brunch =.=
Ever since my life has turned into stress-free mode, early morning wakey is such a torture to me. I will usually sleep till 9am (the earliest) or … latest by 10am (or close to 11am).
As for Christine’s birthday brunch breakfast, we chose to settle ourselves in Antipodean Cafe.

Antipodean
Pronounced as “an.tip.o.de.an”
means:
(1) coming from or relating to Australia or New Zealand
(2) Ancient Greek: anti “opposed” pous “foot” opposite points on the globe
A hearty kiwi/Australian style cafe it is, tucked in one of the premises along Jalan Telawi 2; serving good quality coffee and scrumptious breakfast. You may find yourself energetic once you stepped into the cafe; the air is intensified with the strong aromatic coffee, Mmm…; the atmosphere is crowded and busy. Never say I didn’t warn you, do be early if you wish to grab a table for breakfast. No joke, it took us an hour of waiting time for a table. Or… don’t come in a big group (like us … 6 pax). Split or come in 2. You may get your seats sooner.
Cappuccino (RM8)
Flat white (RM8)
Cafe Latte (RM8)
Iced Mochachino (RM 10)
The coffee beans here are roasted by Indonesia’s top specialty roaster, Merdeka Coffee. I love their coffee, aromatic and it was mild to go on the tongue; but but but… the post effect was quite a something (this is based on my own personal experience).
Big Breakfast (Rm 18)
Toast, choice of bacon, chicken, beef or pork sausages, mushrooms, hash brown & scramble eggs.
All Day Breakfast (RM18)
Toast, choice of bacon, chicken, beef or pork sausages, baked beans, scrambled eggs & grilled tomatoes.
Croissant Scrambled eggs with bacon (RM18)
Smoked Salmon Omelette (RM20)
Love their breakfast a lots, the portions are quite generous, even for guys! Their scrambled eggs were made moist, buttery and fluffy. Their homemade hash brown looked small but it was very hearty!
Not long ago, I revisited the cafe for more coffee and nibbles. Lemon Meringue Pie was in a sourish hint and the meringue was bubbly and soft. Just alright to go with the cup of hot drink.
Antipodean Cafe was shortlisted in the Best for Coffee and Best New Restaurant categories of the Time Out KL Food Awards 2011.

i think it’s better to come in the morning, good and professional barista does make a change in their coffee.
Eh, when did you revisit? The breakfast session was good, but the wait was too long. Wonder if they allow reservations, coz it’s definitely better to book beforehand.
hehe, went some times ago with friends after dinner. had the desserts and the hot drinks. hmm, their dessert range is quite limited lorrr
not sure if they allow reservations. next time go in 2, or 3 (+ me pls) 😛
love my coffee and big / all day breakfast moments at Antipodeon. But never thought of it to be a gathering place for birthdays…
