Mun Kee Steam Fish Head 文记鱼头王蒸鱼头 @ Taman Segar, Cheras KL
Cherasan should know about this: There is a crowded steam fish head STALL located at Jalan Manis has expanded their business into a shop opposite his own stall!
Well, that is not what I wanna write about; but a steam fish head restaurant too located a few doors away from it.

This is my recent find for steam fish head.
Very unique kitchen facing the main entrance; you can actually observe how they prepare/cook/steam the fish.
with only 4 types of steam available; Opsss, nope, 5 actually.
Clear steam fish head
Black bean steam
Sambal sos steam
mashed ginger steam
And the final one is nyonya steam (this is not listed on the board)
I like the fact that they serve chu char dishes too!
Stir-fry Ba ku choi with belacan. (RM 10)
Har Mai Shang Cheong, Stir-fry pig’s intesting a.k.a. fallopian tube (RM 12)
came with lots of bits and pieces of dried shrimp and chillies and filled with wok hei. I love the QQ texture of the shang cheong.
Salted egg fried chicken wings (RM 18)
very unique fried chicken wings that coated with scrumptious and crunchy egg yolk batter. But it wasn’t salty enough on that night.
Here comes the main character!
Clear Steam Fish Head (RM 24) was very very thick and huge; garnished with lots of chillies and ginger slices! The fish head portion was larger than this served. Fair white succulent meat; neither undercooked nor overdone. We love it!
I tried out the Nyonya steam previously, it was good too. With lots of mashed ginger blended well with the sourish nyonya sauce. Appetizing! And now, if you ask me which do i prefer (if to compared with Dai Be), I would say this! For its greater portion of fish head that is priced reasonably and better environment too!
Oh, never forget about this.
Collect nine stickers (upon ordered of 9 steam fish head) and you are entitled a FREE small fish head. Mine: 7 more to go 😛
