B4 Latin American Buffet @ Qba Latin Bar & Grill, Westin KL
Latin American Cuisine may not be new for you. But, how about a Latin American Cuisine in Buffet Style???
B4 – the abbreviation for Beer + BBQ + Banda + Bandido!!!
Qba Latin Bar & Grill at Westin Hotel, KL is a place where you can get the idea of B4. And yes, you will get to enjoy the great Latin American food & BBQ prepared freshly on spot upon orders, free flows of beer + cocktails + wine + tequila and great music. Yes you hear me, Free Flow of alcoholic beverages!!!
Thanks to Ming and Yoke May from the Westin Group. The Makan Kaki-s and I were brought to Qba Courtyard to indulge the Latin American cuisine and explore the idea of B4.
We were wow-ed by the grand looking ambiance as we were heading down to the courtyard.

On that evening, Glad to have Pearl, the lovely chef around; explaining on the food served.
So, let’s feast, shall we???
1. Beverages:
Wine – anakena
Cocktail – bandido, frozen qba libre
Beer – Carlsberg Draught (Carlsberg beer glass), Chang beer (bottle), Corona bee (bottle), Tuborg beer (bottle)
Tequila
Soft drinks
Juices
2. From the Crustacea Seafood Stall
Irish oyster and shellfish ice stands were brought to the table with Qba salsa’s – habanero & tomato relish, jalapeno and lime crema, shadowbenny, avocado dippings. I heart the oyster and mussels as they were really fresh.
Cocktel De Mariscos – the seafood cocktails in a combination of scallop tiradito, salsa verde, garlic chive cress, cashew nuts.
and the other one was a cocktail with the prawn and coconut ceviche.
3. Two fires: Grilling the Latin American way…
Latin American Grill that use wood fire and cast iron.
Seared salmon fillet with corn cakes, rosemary skewered prawns and red peppers, griddled goats cheese with spiced olives as well as the calamari and burnt tomato. holaaaaaaaa, love the gooey melty goat cheese that served warm.
4. Taquero – Tacos
The traditional Mexican dish that comes with corn or wheat tortilla folded or rolled around a filling.
The choices of fillings are such as:
Grilled fish, Citrus flavours, Mango Salsa
Grilled lamb carne asada, red onion escabeche, habanero salsa
Chorizo sausage, scrambled egg, grilled spring onion
Chicken al pastor (vertical spit gyro), roasted poblano rajas, sweet corn
Red mole usda beef short ribs.

5. The Parrilla – the asadero open grill
The grill stuff are…
Angus sirloin steak
Chipotle marinated chicken
Lamb cutlets
Glazed beef short ribs
Sea Bass in banana leaves with achiote and orange
Gold band snapper kabob a la diablo
Chorizo sausage kabob
Spit rotisserie whole lamb
The meats were well marinated, juicy and succulent.
And never forget the tantalizing sauces available: Brazilian Criolla, Tequila Habanero BBQ, Red Chimmichurri, Pico De Gallo & Jus, Herb Butter, Smoked Chili Butter, Herb and Spice Curry Butter.
The other would be Cowboy baked Cannellini Beans, Escallavida Vegetables, Columbian Style Baby Potatoes, Tomato and Olive Salad.
6. Arepas – South American filled Corn Cakes
Let’s savour the Latin American Burger!!!
Stuffed with beef and green olive hash or black bean and cheese or grilled eggplant, dried tomato and feta cheese or perico, turkey ham and cheddar cheese in the corn cakes.
7. Arrox – the Rice
Paella – the saffron infused valencia rice with chicken, prawns, live black mussels and little neck clams and chorizo
Picadillo Con Heurvos – the cuban nasi campur
Cubans love having their steamed rice with beef has ragout, braised canary beans, avocado pineapple and cacao salad, hot salsa, crisp plantains, takari, caribbean lamb curry

8. Giant Torta – South of the border sandwich
Foots long of sandwich that packed with achiote spiced chicken, pickled jalapeno, mango salsa, guacamole, roma tomatoes, monterey jack cheddar!!! Just ask the staff to slice it for you~
9. Dulces – Sweets (were brought to the table too)
Coffee choclate mousse and cinnamon Churros – The mousse was soft and fluffy and intensed with coffee essence.

Love experiencing some authentic Latin American cuisine, Qba is a place for you. At just RM 148++, you will get to try out all variety of food. Besides that, there are free flow of alcoholic beverages too!
You may think, ahhhh, RM 148++ is too expensive. But then i can say, it will be well worth every cents spent.
