Japan Trip 2014: 9D8N Hiroshima & Kyushu Area
Konnichiwa こんにちわ
Okay lar, actually I have no idea what to put up a title for this post. I touched down at Nagoya but didn’t cover much as we were travelling to the southern part of Japan and covered a little bit of here and there in Hiroshima but mainly in Kyushu area. A month has gone but my mind and soul (sometimes) are still left in Japan. I just can’t wait to go back again.
Well, here is the summary about my trip. It can be your reference if you loved to and I will try to upload more about the daily activities and places I visited in Japan. 🙂

***
A Bome Dome, Hiroshima
It is part of the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park and was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1996. The ruin serves as a memorial to the people who were killed in the atomic bombing of Hiroshima on 6 August 1945.
Manholes in Japan are way so cute!!!
Kumamoto Castle
One of the most impressive castles in Japan.
The unstable Mount Aso. The ropeway is closed until further notice. So we couldn’t get to visit there.
Komezuka
It was once an active volcano but now it is covered in grass, with the crate area sunken at the top.
One of the best stay ever in Ryokan with onsen (hot spring bath)
Served with 9-course kaiseki dinner and shiawase breakfast
And slept on the warmest and most comfortable tatami.
Manai Waterfall of Takachiho-kyo (Gorge)
It is selected as one of the best fine waterfalls in Japan. Due to the time constrains, we were not able to take the boat ride and have a clear view of the waterfall as well as further explore Miyazaki. Will definitely return for more as there are few places of attraction to visit such as the Amano Iwato Shrine
It was early autumn, the leaves slower turned into red.
Paddy field; soon to harvest
Peace Park, Nagasaki
Took the ropeway up to Mount Inasa for this spectacular night view.
Everyone’s heaven including men too!
Crazy time at Tosu Premium Outlet.
Must try at Fukuoka’s famous open air food stall, Yatai 屋台
Caught the beautiful sunrise of Japan before flying off.
More update?!
Stay tune!
Hi! Great itinerary for Kyushu and will be most helpful for future planning purposes 🙂 I noticed that you rented a car for some of the days. Is the Malaysian Driver’s License sufficient to drive in Japan or must we hold an International Driver’s License?
hi Sue,
yes we rented a car for 2 days.
You will need to get the international driver license for that. 🙂
Aww… I guess I’ll have to factor that in first before planning any self drive trips in Japan.
Thank you for the reply! 🙂
you are most welcome. 🙂
which area do you plan to visit in Japan?
Similar to your itinerary. The Kyushu area and also Hiroshima/Miyajima 🙂 I am sure trains are quite convenient to get from city to city but my main concern is those more “ulu” but beautiful sightseeing places. A car will definitely be more convenient.
