Jin Xuan Hong Kong Dim Sum 锦选香港特级点心@ Kuchai Lama
Sunday;
nothing beats a great breakfast with the family. Agree?!
Ever since I brought my parents over here, they seem to have addicted and make visit every week. There was once we paid visits twice in a week!

Jin Xuan’s dim sum needs no long elaboration, I guess. It is now already a well “established” dim sum place; with branches around KL, PJ and Puchong area. Business during the weekends is crazily hectic. Although very crowded, I still manage to secure a table within 15 mins.
Seaweed roll
Siu Mai
Sharkfin Dumpling
Country Style Shrimp Dumpling
“Lau Sar Bao” (Golden Custard Bun)
Runny salted egg yolk filling that was so rich and creamy. Slurrrp, love the mix of salty-sweet fillings
Baked Custard Bun
Char Siu Sou (Baked Roast Pork Pastry)
Bamboo Fungus Shrimp Dumpling
Hor Yip Fan (Sticky Rice Lotus Leaf)
Char Siu Pao (BBQ Pork Bun)
Dai Pao (Signature Big Pao)
Hong Kong Chee Cheong Fun (Steamed Rice Noodle Rolls with Shrimps)
Fried Yam Pastry
and some lovely special bits

Verdict: I have been to both Jin Xuan that are located in Kuchai Lama and Damasara Uptown. I enjoyed their dim sum selection but I do find the one in Kuchai Lama serves tastier dim sum. The Lau Sar Bao from Kuchai Lama were runny, served piping hot (on all my visits) while the latter one has got thicker and coarser skin with little runny fillings. Siu Mai(s) in Kuchai Lama were much flavourful too. Some of the dim sum selection in Kuchai Lama comes cheaper too. For example, each dish of 精点(fine selection?/dim sum) in Kuchai Lama is cheaper by Rm2; and they charged us 70 sen per head for hot water (we brought our own tea bags) while Damansara Uptown charged Rm 1 per head. Besides that, the service charges in Kuchai Lama is only 5% while 10% in the latter branch. Well, guess that’s because of the rental difference. Dim Sum’s price is ranged from Rm 3.60 to Rm 10 per basket/dish.
