The place for porky fix – S. Wine Cafe @ Publika
Ever since I have limited food selection during the normal working days, I am always looking forwards to have some porky-licious meals during the weekends!
andddd… Yes, another brilliant idea brought up by the BIG group, I must say, I love doing my porky fix here in S. Wine Café – their first non halal restaurant under the group.
For the starter, we had the Warm Pork Belly Confit, Watermelon and Lychee Salad (RM 19.90)
Pork belly confit with watermelon chunks and lychee, tossed with fragrant asian greens in lychee dressing and sprinkled with peanuts. A very asian delights where some found it quite asam-laksa-ish while I said it was quite som-tam-ish.
Lovely huge chunk of crispy pork belly…
French Toast with Grilled Bananas (RM 18.90) – available till 6pm daily
Two slices of French toast topped with a dollop of huge peanut butter, caramelized banana and drizzled with maple-flavoured syrup; served with 2 slices of applewood smoked bacon. Mmmm, we love this breakfast plate; especially with the very rich and thick spread of peanut butter and sandwich everything in between!
Sloppy Pig Burger with Mexicana Pulled Pork (RM 23.90)
Pork burger slopped with Mexicana pulled pork on a brioche burger bun, served with coleslaw, pickles and crinkled fries. The pork patty was huge and thick; taste much like the Chinese version of pork ball which was quite bouncy; as for the bun, it was on the dryer side.
Hainanese Pork Chop (RM 23.90)
This one has our votes. Drenched with tangy sweet tomato sauce with peas, corns and carrots; topped with coriander and served on a bed of crinkled fries.
The pork chop came in really huge piece, it was tender and still, able to maintain its juiciness. Love it!
